It's this easy to get PIP. If you're a scrounging liar. A caller into @TalkTV says he's perfectly fit and healthy but just to see how easy it is to play the system, he applied for PIP online, making up a few answers on the claim form. He's just been awarded £170 a month. Without ever having to speak to anyone, see anyone or have a doctor confirm his 'ailments'. He's now going to 'phone them and admit what he's done and refuse the payments. Because he's honest. But as we know, hundreds of thousands aren't. And we're being fleeced by these scroungers.

Proud late boomer here. Age is something that comes to us all if we are lucky. Grandparents fought in WWII, parents born during that war. Grew up with awesome tv, great comedy and damned good music. Learned respect and values like honesty, willingness to work and to be responsible.

I think healthcare providers know better than their patients what is the best treatment. Sometimes they’re wrong. Patients are free to choose their doctor and even their treatment if they think they know better than the doctor but it would be asinine to tell a patient that they’re not allowed to choose the best doctor available because that doctor is the wrong sex. Not allowing male healthcare professionals to work in crisis centers removes options from women and potentially reduces their overall recovery. I’m okay with removing the option as long as the rate of successful recovery remains the same. I’m not okay with that decision being made without credible evidence.

Claims of competence are different than actual competence. Refusing to acknowledge that stages of healing require different things is incompetent. Arguing that women rape survivors “have to eventually deal with men” to support men in sexual assault centres is incompetent. Kind of like claiming that a person will eventually have to feed themselves to support a newborn baby being refused milk.

Women’s abuse centres generally deal with the first stages of recovery. Re-entering society comes at later stages. If initial trust stages aren’t permitted, later stages often don’t happen. As with your knife wound analogy, if the doctor insists in packing the wound with a pile of crap, fails to clean and disinfect before sticking it up, etc the wound is not likely to heal. If said procedure was hospital policy a patient would be quite within their rights to refuse treatment and go to another hospital where basic cleanliness and medical knowledge was automatic. You are being told what women who ARE personally involved with healing procedures of crimes against women and rather than listen you continue to say “but…what about men”.

I’ve seen multiple videos of women giving ‘expert testimony about how men can get pregnant. I’ve never seen a man give such testimony though I’m positive there are men pathetic enough to say the same. I wouldn’t put as much faith in women expertise as you, the politicians that allow men into women’s spaces have the votes of a majority of women.
