@LMSChairman However, there is nothing forcing the Faithful to have a devotion to every Saint, so perhaps it would be better to humbly accept the canonisation is valid but not have a devotion to that Saint!
English

@LMSChairman While canonisation may not meet the requirements for infallibility set by Vatican I, it has always been considered a part of Papal Magisterium! It is quite dangerous to deny a Saint should have been canonised as this is the purpose of the Church!
English

This is serious. Catholics who want to be orthodox have got to drop this nonsense about canonizations being infallible. Is the heroic virtue of Escriva part of the Deposit of Faith? Get a grip.
Forty Days@fortyhigh
@pluant God forbid we end up with a spectacular counter-example and the rigid insistence on infallibility leads souls to apostasy! Can you imagine if Maciel had died in the late 90's and been rushed through in the last years of JPII?

@manassehmainah @cory_casual Papal infallibility does not mean the Pope is always right! The Pope has only spoken infallibly twice since 1870! To do so every Bishop in the world must agree with his statement - this is the Magisterium, not the opinion of individual Bishops, which can be wrong!
English

@FrDanielKelly @cory_casual How does the first statement relate to The Infallibility of the Pope?
If the Pope and the Cardinals can be wrong, being that they are part of what constitutes the Magisterium, is it logical to say The Magisterium can be wrong?
English

@manassehmainah @cory_casual The Pope is a human being and can therefore be wrong! The Magisterium is how God teaches us, particular when the modern world presents an issue that is not in Sacred Scripture!
English

@FrDanielKelly @cory_casual How does one know when the Pope and/or the Magisterium are wrong?
English

@sola_chad Unless you go to Confession and receive forgiveness for your sins!
English

@NJBeisner @s25becker It is Scripturally based as that is exactly how the Angel greeted Her: ‘Hail Mary, full of Grace’
English

@s25becker This doesn’t make sense, and it’s not scripturally based.
English

@NJBeisner God is Her Saviour by causing Her to be conceived without sin!
English

@LizzieMarbach No, they are acts of respect! Offering and sacrifice are acts of worship!
