Mrs. Ullman is listed as a receiver because she is our Chief Administrative Officer for our diocese. I am primary reports receiver as the director of our safeguarding committee. The Canon to the Ordinary also receives reports. As the CAO, it is appropriate for her to be a part of the team who ALL receive any reports submitted.

Is it standard practice for a bishop's family member to be appointed as his own diocesan reports receiver in @the_ACNA?

ACNA News: JAFC Bp Derek Jones has finally been served a summons. Why was he summoned two months after Archbishop Wood was, in February? Is @the_ACNA seeking to try Wood & Jones under "new Title IV"—as suggested in recent remarks by the architect of the reforms, Bp Phil Ashey?

In addition to our formal safeguarding process, we also have multiple deans who are responsible for pastoral care, three suffragan bishops, whose email addresses and phone numbers are all available and am standing committee and executive committee whose chairman email and phone are published.

It is important to remember the primary purpose of the safeguarding process is to protect all members of our diocese, clergy and laity. This is not only about protecting against potential abuse from a Bishop, but from clergy and laity as well. That is why we have three reports receivers, not related to one a other.

I like Bishop Ashey a great deal but found his speculation unwarranted. Also, at least two of the supposedly terminated clerics mentioned in the WaPo article departed of their own volition and remain in good standing in a neighboring diocese.
