After crude oil, coffee is the most traded commodity in the world. Over 2 billion cups are drunk every day yet the farmers who grow the beans receive on average less than 1% of the retail price.

People can claim x criteria to be a part of their group, but that has NO authority over what God gives as criteria to be a Christian. That also includes male homosexuality, racism, etc.

@cabinsmountain Not really. I've lived in a neighborhood like that. The HOA was a menace. Friendliness was looked on w suspicion. Most families worked dual-income to afford the house. Rarely saw the adults. Kids weren't allowed out unless the parents were home. Even then they were overscheduled.

The kind of neighborhood where people still sit on porches and wave back.

@soulxalen @earthcurated This is how it works. We grow coffee in places where the Cost of Living is low: $5k/yr not $150k. After buying raw beans from the farmers, costs / value la are added along the way: grading, sorting, shipping, roasting, etc. We could do the same thing w EVERY ag product.
