@nasiphim You were RIGHT NEXT TO plastic view which in full of illegals, has shebeens, and breaks numerous bylaws DAILY. But you chose to close down shops that creates employment rather.
Take action against things residents REALLY complain about if you want more voters! Priorities pls.

We closed a few businesses in Moreleta Park. They were operating without training licenses and some had no operating health and fire certificates. Residents of Tshwane, our by-laws should treat every business equally, in townships and suburbs. What was concerning in our oversight was finding big chain establishments such as Checkers and Pick n Pay who did not have valid operating licenses. We closed down Asia House, A Fish Takeaway restaurant and Pizza Baby. @CityTshwane

We took our by-law enforcement operation to Moreleta Park. We found a trail of non-compliance from small restaurants to big businesses: Checkers and Pick n Pay. We found several stores at Morelete Village Shopping Centre operating without trading licenses. We issued fines and closed some stores. @CityTshwane

@nasiphim @CityTshwane What about the well known shebeen that has been allowed to operate with impunity? Who allowed that and why? Corruption? Heads must roll.

Residents of Pretoria East have been complaining about this particular informal settlement for years. It’s allegedly predominantly dominated by illegal immigrants. We’ve joined this operation with Home Affairs, SAPS and TMPD. One by One. @CityTshwane

@Olivia_LaGrange Maybe you only come across mostly white middle and upper class because you mingle mostly with white middle and upper class. Not so?
This is not a race thing. It’s a behavioural thing.

I'd like to share a thought.....and hear your feedback on this as a South African citizen.
As a resident of Tshwane and engaged in political debate, I often come across mostly white middle and upper class residents who complain about squatter camps popping up in their suburban bubbles. Plastic View is the most notorious and blamed for crime across the East of Pretoria.
It seems, however, that these same individuals, battle to make the connection with their employment of illegal immigrants.
Am I missing something ?

@Lebona_cabonena Problem here is that if the farmers unite and simply decide to plant everything but maize and maybe one or two other critical crops, it will hurt SA badly. We are heavily dependent on maize and 90% imports would be devastating.

@wilkinsoncape There is quite a big vacuum in SA politics at the moment
Most of SA is yearning for a non-racial - put SA first - lets get thibgs fixed party. Run by someone with business sense like

@CityTshwane This is great. But how many times must people burn to death in Plastic view and cemetery view before you relocate them to a safer option???

@RekordNewspaper Whats the plan? @HermanMashaba
Residents are overwhelmed by toxic smoke, illegal shebeens, drugs, etc
Small businesses in the area use illegal immigrants to bypass taxes and pay below minimum wage causing even less work available for SA’s. Etc etc.

Fully loaded! Today we hand over new police cars 🚔 to the SAPS to take the fight against crime in Gauteng to the next level. We remain committed to resource our battle against crime #AsaferGauteng will emerge

@LadyAbahambe You are correct
Look at Plastic View in Pretoria. East.
Most small businesses only use foreigners from Plastic view.
The foreigners dont pay tax so they cost the companies less. They can also pay below minimum wage.
No opportunities for SA’ns 🙁
It is not fair!

Disgraceful that a South African President described Russia - which grossly violated the UN charter by invading a neighbouring state - as a “valued ally”. Putin is a killer
