The knives aren't out for Andy Burnham. They are just being sharpened. But the autumn will prove a difficult time for him, as more stories about the plots and subplots and Louise Haigh's involvement in his bid to topple one of Labours own come to light. It won't be pretty.

Keir Starmer is handing the keys of No.10 to Andy Burnham next week, and he is leaving with an absolute masterclass of a final week. Just look at the scoreboard from Monday and Tuesday alone. i - £5.2bn Services Deal with Switzerland: the biggest services trade deal in UK history. ii - Historic Gibraltar Treaty :finally sorting a post-Brexit hard border while strictly preserving British sovereignty. iii - Ukraine Defence Procurement :securing major manufacturing and engineering jobs right here in the UK. iv - Legion d’honneur .Starmer becomes the first-ever serving British PM to receive France’s highest honour. This is a government focused on bringing pride, justice, and economic security back to the UK. Let’s be honest.Has any UK government delivered this much in a single week in the last decade?

@WasOnceLoved @jackalsbynight The Labour Party rules state that the membership has to vote for a new PM. Burnham and his gang of traitors ignored this. Devious means indeed.

@jackalsbynight Devious means? He stood for election. Was elected. He stood for leadership, unopposed. Was endorsed. Nothing devious. The PM is the leader of the largest party. Do you want an elected head of state?

Why? Burnham used devious means to usurp our democratically elected Prime Minister - he did nothing whatsoever to earn the premiership. He did nothing to earn the trust of the membership. He did nothing to earn that huge mandate from the electorate. He's a coward. And so are you

I have been so critical of the Burnham takeover & how he & his sidekicks have manipulated the National Suffrage by causing 2 by elections - paid for by the taxpayer- to depose the Labour PM - I shall probably be expelled from the party I've been a member of all my adult life.

The next Prime Minister will be @andyburnham he now has the backing of enough MPs to secure the leadership outright. Congratulations Andy. Let us all go forward together and beat the populists and build the country we know we can be. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@wesstreeting An important fact is that Burnham is not a valid Labour PM. Do you condone Labour Party rules being ignored? Yes or no??????

Last week I nominated Andy Burnham to become the leader of the Labour Party and our Prime Minister 🌹 His commitment to give families breathing space in this cost of living crisis is exactly what my constituents in West Brom and people across the Black Country want to see.
