@Tabcollins100 @FreeMethadone @AATOD1984 Methadone is a lifesaving drug. This is a fact. The absurdities of the clinic system however are a major barrier for so many people who would otherwise thrive on methadone.

Those daily dosing profits reach other galaxies, maybe @AATOD1984 & clinic owners have a serious money addiction affecting their ability to provide adequate care for their paying patients…#FreeMethadone
brett@phantomtransy

My counselor for the methadone clinic just told me on the phone that the vast majority of patients at the clinic have to show up daily to dose bc they use cannabis...she said it was easily the majority of people there just take methadone & use thc

“They must be really bad people if they can’t be trusted to even go to the bathroom.” My 9 year old daughter’s response when she heard about cameras in the bathroom at the methadone clinic. At 9 she already has learned that people who take methadone are untrustworthy.

@ChadDKollas @ASAMorg Wouldn’t this a better issue for state medical boards to address? Cops shouldn’t be able to decide what is or isn’t medically appropriate.

@AATOD1984 METHADONE is a life saving drug. Clinics do NOT “work” w/ patients. They treat us like we’re degenerate liars who aren’t deserving of managing our meds like every other human. You only want to tighten your grip on your methadone monopoly. You impede access. You’re killing us.

WARNING GRAPHIC Unless the clinic nurse witnesses vomiting re-dosing is prohibited. Nausea is one of the first symptoms of withdrawal and since Methadose wears off early for some of us, so vomiting is a real concern. This means if it happens outside the clinic you need to drink your vomit and try to keep it down to prevent feeling like I need to use illicit opioids to prevent withdrawal.

@Deeenst @2023jbg @tofutefisk @FreeMethadone @samhsagov @m_aadil @RyanMarino @_DrScott_ @RNBluthenthal @billkinkle @highway_dave @thcjusticenow @JusticeFwdVa Methadone is a great pain med for me, I actually prefer it over many other full agonists for its long lasting effect. I don’t have to worry about “staying on top of my pain” before I get to pain crisis level bec I don’t have to redose every 4-8 hours. The clinic is the problem.

@ibdgirl76 I got to get myself all winterized to commute to the methadone clinic to receive 1 dose of my medication by a nurse through a hole in the glass. There were 2 folks in wheelchairs, 4 with walkers, 2 on oxygen, more canes than I could count. This isn’t sustainable. @FreeMethadone

Hey @YngvildOlsen can you contact this OTP and tell them this isn’t SAMHSA guidelines - that counseling is not mandatory? And that this behavior by the OTP is punishing patients. And It’s not part of the culture change in clinics that you’re promoting. Just asking for a friend 🙏
Bill Kinkle, EMT-P, RN, CRS🇺🇸@billkinkle

I did not go to counseling for several weeks, now there is a lock on my account that prevents the nurse from dispensing methadone until my counselor approves it. It’s a means to pressure me into counseling. #freemethadone

“Welcome to the methadone clinic! You’re mandated to counseling in order to receive your life saving medication. This is a key component to your success. Don’t worry, everything we do is evidence based & we value harm reduction principles. Meet your counselor…” @FreeMethadone

@JAMA_current @MInczeMD @suenlw Some critics of MOTAA (actual methadone patients) believe prescribing must be expanded to all MDs or we will only be introducing another form of wealth & racial inequity standing in the way of desperately needed flexible methadone access. @FreeMethadone

More methadone madness. A sign in the dispensing box reads, “You must show the nurse the inside of your mouth before you leave the booth. If you are on a blind dose DO NOT ask the nurse what your dose is.” They need to make sure I don’t leave, spit it in a cup and sell it.

@el_sabawi People on probation and parole go back to prison everyday for the same thing. These tests are inaccurate and a disgrace to modern medicine.
