@SimpGanassi @PierreMondriet That is more realistic. Manchester cannot do it alone. Combining with Liverpool is more realistic to make an Alpha metro area but that includes Liverpool's pulling power and global brand.

We are approaching the seven (SEVEN!!!) year anniversary of the destruction of Bixteth Street Gardens. Just take that in. Bulldozers came and flattened our park to make way for New Grade A office space, a hotel and all that ‘public realm’ we so “desperately needed”…

Sorry to press the point but towers are a recent fad in London, Manchester etc. Rome Paris etc don’t have them (well Paris has now) and are much more beautiful without them. Can you give examples of where they are examples of economic confidence? And if without them the places you mention would fail?
