Snit Habteab – the first Eritrean to be crowned Miss Africa USA in 2023 has been appointed Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF International) for her advocacy in inclusive education and community service. In her statement, she emphasized that true peace starts with education: teaching the next generation compassion, inclusion, and service every day — not just occasionally. She called for ongoing opportunities for students to uplift underserved communities and urged educators, students, and communities to work together to build a more empathetic and peaceful world through daily kindness and inclusive learning. #Eritrea

Today H.E. Osman Saleh, Foreign Minister of #Eritrea, met with Massad Fares Boulos, @US_SrAdvisorAF #US Senior Advisor for African Affairs to President Donald J. Trump @POTUS , to discuss avenues for renewed engagement between the two nations. The high-level meeting, held on the margins of the 80th Session of the @UN general Assembly in New York, reflects a mutual interest in exploring opportunities for partnership. Both sides emphasized the importance of constructive engagement, dialogue, and collaboration on regional stability, security, and economic development. H.E. Osman Saleh underscored #Eritrea’s readiness to engage in meaningful discussions that respect national sovereignty while exploring areas of common interest, particularly in the Horn of Africa, the Nile Basin and the Red Sea. Minister Osman Saleh re-iterated #Eritrea’s commitment to regional peace and sustainable development and welcomed the opportunity to assess potential avenues for cooperation with the #UnitedStates . According to Solomon Woldegerima, spokesperson for the Amhara FANO National Movements (AFNM), the official Ximdo (Tsimdo) agreement between the TPLF, Shabia, and AFNM will be formally announced very soon. He stated that reaching this stage required him to travel to Eritrea more than twice and to Mekelle more than seven times to hold meetings with high-ranking officials from the TPLF/TDF and Shabia. This past Friday, we participated in our children’s school International Cultural Day, proudly representing Eritrea. We shared our traditional coffee ceremony along with some of our cultural foods. It was such a beautiful experience to celebrate our culture and connect with others.
