Very pleased to share that my latest article, “Rereading Malthus: Darwin and the Historians,” is now published in Isis! The piece revisits Darwin’s reading of Malthus, overturning long-held assumptions while also exploring how those interpretations took hold. 🧵

Final corrections submitted! Publication date mid-November. Am now more than slightly queasy at the thought that it's too late to pick up any more errors. But at least I finally have a cast iron argument against further attempts to ferret out more reactions to Darwin.

Recently @Freudzter @_anatoliikozlov and I have discussed affective history and tracing the role of emotions in science through reading notes 🖋️ Reading Hasok Chang’s idea of zombie theories I laughed 🧟 - I’m sure my ‘haha’ means I will return to this passage for future ideas.

Great to see the final product at last! Big thanks to Alex Wright and the team at CUP, and to all the colleagues who gave advice and commentary. (It's also the official publication day in the UK).
