When I asked the Predators why "Faith & Family Night" AKA Christian Night was not only omitted from their Theme Night promotional calendar, but why is it not an arena-wide event like Pride Night, the team said:

Crazy that we've been here for years now and we all can feel how close we are to the end. It's one of those things that, to a degree, feels like it's never going to end. But we know better.
Everything really is about to change and that's so exciting. It almost doesn't feel real.

I am a registered Independent party voter.
I offered Mike McGarry an interview. He was friendly enough and said he basically stepped in because there weren’t any other candidates willing to. Admirable. He wanted me to drive to Hartford to do the interview in person, because he didn’t know how to do a zoom. I tried to connect further but couldn’t get it scheduled.
So yes I would donate to my son in law over a Kleenex candidate, especially if I felt they were a good person.
Nicole is a solid hard working Republican lawmaker headed for leadership. In America we can spend our money and donate to who or whatever we want. Personally like most rational people, I don’t feel that donating to candidates who have limited appeal like Jonathan DeBarros and no chance of being elected is money well spent, do you?
Greg Butler is one of the kindest most thoughtful people you will ever meet.
I am happy he and Themis met fell in love and were married. They are kindred spirits. Greg has been incredibly successful in his life. Sometimes people who are so successful no longer want to relate with people of average means. Greg on the other hand is not like that at all. He’s not pretentious, he’s friendly and takes real interest in who he’s speaking with.
Both he and Themis are philanthropic.
That’s been my experience with this family.
People’s political affiliation really matters so little, over their character and actions in how they treat others to me. I meet and speak with people across the spectrum.
Conservative Republicans to Progressive Democrats and have made great friends with many of them.
What I have learned is I will never agree with everyone on everything, and a good idea or solution can come from anyone and should be accepted as such. There you go.

Jonathan DeBarros in his stump speeches has been claiming for some time he “turned down” a $100,000 bribe and endorsement from the Independent Party, saying Chairman Chip Beckett wanted him to denounce Donald Trump. (See Polish Agnes YouTube video clip from a recent candidates “Pine Loft” event in Berlin CT)
Only one problem,
That never happened.
The Independent Party of Connecticut does not hand out endorsements. Candidates must apply, complete a questionnaire, and engage in a transparent process. Jonathan DeBarros never did.
And based on his conduct, it’s hard to see how he would have ever met even the minimum standards anyway.
A baseline expectation of any serious candidate is simple: engage in civil discourse, respect the process, and work constructively with others. Mr. DeBarros has done the opposite—threatening and insulting party leader Ben Proto, along with elected Republican officials and delegates.
That’s not leadership. That’s disqualifying.
So no—he didn’t “turn down” anything. He didn’t apply, and based on his behavior, he wouldn’t qualify.

And the results speak for themselves: weak fundraising, no traction, and a campaign built more on conflict than credibility.
No one in your party wants a nominee who spends more time attacking Republicans than Democrats. That’s not how you win delegates—or elections.

I can say Themis Klarides is the best friend one could hope to have, I love her very much, and wouldn’t trade our friendship for the world. So, why would I condemn one of the best most successful 11 term leaders CT Republicans have ever had?
BTW - News flash she left office 5 years ago. People donate to family members and friends regardless of party, besides you, who cares? Ever since the war on moderates started around 2016-2018, CTGOP has lost 27 house, 7 senates seats and 30 towns flipped blue in the municipal cycle. Congratulations!
