$TCL.A.TO sold the bulk of their company and decided to distribute the money to shareholders. $20/share dividend.

I have a friend who:
- Gets 10 sick days/year
- Is allowed to bank them, up to 85
- Already has 40+ banked
- Refuses to use them because he might "need" them one day
- Takes a holiday day instead
- Has disability in case he gets really sick
Insane behaviour, right?

Firms exist to make profit. They don’t just want to “stop building”… it’s how they make money

You can’t argue that housing becomes affordable by making it more profitable to build
And then assume builders want to flood the market to drive prices down (making building less profitable)
The fact is that builders stop building when prices fall
