@FunctionsZeta

NOT a doctor. Anti-PA. Anti-scope creep. Podiatrists and optometrists aren't doctors. Behave yourself America.

Since the @RCPhysicians will soon become the Royal College of Quacks, I have taken the honours to make you a new logo. I only ask for one thing and that is to refund all fees doctors have paid. You're welcome!

Bear in mind - a fully qualified doctor would have been ineligible for this post Increasingly, actually, doctors are becoming ineligible for doctor jobs (you must be ‘lesser trained’ for inclusion purposes)

@2BJDJ Our son was sent off to hospital by his gp twice during the lockdowns. He said the hospital was like a ghost town, he was the only person on the ward. He was in for suspected appendicitis, both times he was sent home with antibiotics. The op. theatres were closed down.

@2BJDJ Were you in the Covid wards/ITU? No thought not…yes many elective procedures, outpatients appointments and visitors were cancelled so hardly surprising some wards were closed and corridors empty. An elective surgical ward would have likely been pretty empty.

@DVATW Show me a single study that shows above a certain CT it's contagious or makes you sick? The alleged bacteria that causes it hasn't been proven either. They claim some people are asymptomatic carriers.

That's very rich coming from someone who's parents were both IMGs..! If this act was in place at that time he wouldn't be preaching this to us now.

A lack of training posts has led to spiralling competition ratios and a jobs crisis in the NHS. Something had to change. This emergency legislation for UK Graduate Prioritisation, is about restoring fairness, valuing NHS experience, and giving doctors hope again. @DocShivSharma, Deputy Chair UK Resident Doctor Committee, explains this win.

A PA graduate who describes their qualification as “Medicine” is now employed by the GMC to investigate doctors’ fitness to practise. They are not themselves registered with the regulator they serve. You genuinely could not make this up.
kc isc@kcisc

PA who calls the degree 'Medicine' works for the GMC to assess and investigate concerns about healthcare practitioners. Not themselves a registered PA either.

@DocPriyamMD You really need to go back to school boy You learn everything in the wrong way Our body is an ocean of bacteria, their simple presence doesn't mean "disease". You can't even understand what "infectious disease" actually means And you can't give any actual evidence for your BS

Can anyone remind me why everyone from journalists to software engineers to gym trainers are suddenly allowed to spew absolute bullshit regarding medicine? We are talking about medical facts on human lives, not "opinions" Case in point: Meningitis. It is highly contagious, it is devastating. Spreading medical lies shouldn't just be frowned upon...it should be a non-bailable offense.
Jacqui Deevoy@JacquiDeevoy1

Meningitis is NOT contagious, so what’s with all the nonsense? As my friend Kat Watkins says on FB today: “Meningitis is an infection in the brain caused by toxins passing the blood brain barrier. You cannot 'catch' it, it's not contagious 🙄🙄 So all this closing of schools is just theatre. It's to scare you into making sure you jab yourselves and your kids up. How many of those who have presented with meningitis, had the covid vax? Since its a side effect? As well as a side effect of many other jabs 🤷🤷”

The only person that should be using consultant in a hospital is a physician or surgeon who has completed their postgraduate training. Yes consultant is used widely elsewhere but in healthcare it is tied to a senior doctor who is an expert. Its not about bashing other professions its about what patients understand and most importantly patient safety. Every time you introduce yourself as a consultant when your not a doctor it doesn't matter what you say after patients think they have seen a consultant doctor. There are many incidents of where this has happened and documented from patients. In addition, we know through research patients don't hear and retain everything we tell them. So here is the question. Why are we relying on vulnerable patients (because by definition every person seeking healthcare is vulnerable) to figure out who they are seeing? Why do we confuse patients with multiple titles they don't understand You can shout it till you are blue in the face but there is no one that can tell me that they use the title consultant (as a non doctor) in healthcare and 100% of the patients will be sure they haven’t seen a doctor. It just dosent work So why are we doing it? We need a new word for senior non-doctors that isn't consultant, and the term consultant (when used in a health care setting) needs protecting in the medical act. @wesstreeting
Joe Pick@isitsleepytime

The use of the term consultant by non doctors is a clear attempt to subvert, CCT/CESR has clearly defined standards and represents an important achievement. I believe those individuals with these titles have a lot to offer, but they are not consultants.
