• Today, March 24th, marks 551 years since the death of Simon of Trent, a two-year-old child whose case became one of the most famous - and controversial - in Church history. • Trent, 1475. Little Simon disappears on Holy Thursday. His body is found on Easter Sunday in a water channel beneath the property of Samuel, the leader of the local Jewish community. The city erupts. • Under torture, 15 members of the Jewish community confessed to having murdered Simon to use his blood in Passover rituals - the classic "blood libel". All were burned at the stake. • The Bishop of Trent, Johannes Hinderbach, immediately promoted the cult of the "martyr." Rome hesitated: Pope Sixtus IV sent a commissioner to investigate and ordered the proceedings suspended. But popular pressure was immense. • In 1588, Sixtus V formally beatified Simon. The cult flourished for nearly five centuries: relics, annual processions, paintings, sermons. Trent celebrated him every year on March 24th. • On October 28, 1965 - the same day Paul VI promulgated Nostra Aetate, the conciliar declaration on relations with non-Christians - the Archbishop of Trent officially abolished the cult. The relics were removed and the body buried in an unknown location. • The suppression of the cult fits within the spirit of Vatican II, particularly the rejection of the collective charge of deicide against the Jewish people. Nostra Aetate marks a turning point in the Church's relationship with Judaism, and Simon's case was an uncomfortable symbol.

Reasons why Gaddafi was killed: 1. Libya has no electricity bill, electricity came free of charge to all citizens. 2. There were no interest rates on loans, the banks were state-owned, the loan of citizens by law 0%. 3. Gaddafi promised not to buy a house for his parents until everyone in Libya owns a home. 4. All newlywed couples in Libya received 60,000 dinars from the government & because of that they bought their own apartments & started their families. 5. Education & medical treatment in Libya are free. Before Gaddafi there were only 25% readers, 83% during his reign 6. If Libyans wanted to live on a farm, they received free household appliances, seeds and livestock. 7. If they cannot receive treatment in Libya, the state would fund them $2300+ accommodation & travel for treatment abroad. 8. If you buy a car, the government finances 50% of the price. 9. The price of gasoline became $ 0.14 per liter. 10. Libya had no external debt, and reserves were $150 Billion (now frozen worldwide) 11. Since some Libyans can't find jobs after school, the government will pay the average salary when they can't find a job. 12. Part of oil sales in Libya are directly linked to the bank accounts of all citizens. 13. The mother who gave birth to the child will receive $5000 14. 40 loaves of bread cost $0.15. 15. 25% of Libyans had all Ilisna diplomas. 16. Gaddafi has implemented the world's biggest irrigation project known as the "BIG MAN PROJECT" to ensure water availability in the desert. If this is called “DICTATORSHIP” I wonder what democracy is?

Now this is wild Man in Cuba shows that the whole country is dark, there isn’t any electricity anywhere, except one place The one place with electricity is where the liberals are staying that flew over on a private jet paid for by a NGO to protest Donald Trump

@Namawto4 @WallStreetApes Because Trump is blockadin Cuba's energy. They used to get their oil energy from Venezuela. But now that Trump put a naval blockade around Venezuela, & like a pirate in the seas, he's taking the oil, & denying Cuba any. He says it's his sphere of influence to do what he wants!

@2odinsorphan @YEYEmeta @General_Oluchi You believe there's nothing taxes fund that benefits society? How about the police? Judges/court system to settle disputes? Roads? All funded using our taxes. Doesn't society benefit from these? Not saying there's no waste/fraud/abuse. Just don't throw baby out with the water.

A joke went viral… now it’s turned into a $27 million legal battle. This week, headlines exploded after Grammy-winning composer Lebo M filed a lawsuit against comedian Learnmore Jonasi over a viral podcast clip. On the One54 Africa podcast, Learnmore joked about the meaning of the iconic Lion King chant, translating it as something far simpler than its original intent. According to the lawsuit, the issue wasn’t just the joke—it was that the translation was presented as fact, allegedly misrepresenting a chant deeply rooted in African culture and meaning. The clip spread fast across social media, with millions reacting, laughing, debating… and unknowingly turning it into something much bigger. Now, what started as a viral moment has landed in court, raising a bigger question: Where does comedy end… and responsibility begin?

@DanBMintin @YEYEmeta @General_Oluchi It's adorable that people think taxes don't go into helping society at all. Taxes build the airports & roads you use to transport yourself & the goods you consume, police & 911 etc. Aside from waste & abuse of taxes eg. 200 billion on an illegal war on Iran, taxes help society.

@abaho_dennis @HEBobiwine @BitiTendai Bobi Wine, UNLIKE the people he's criticising, & the ones you're attacking Bobi Wine to defend; hasn't tortured anyone & left them with scars all over their body. That barbarity & savagery is what you're defending, & what Bobi Wine is opposing.

Just a few weeks ago, Mr. @BitiTendai, a comrade and human rights lawyer in Zimbabwe, was speaking out strongly condemning our brutal persecution by the Museveni regime following the sham Jan. 2026 election. Unfortunately, as I type this, he has joined the long list of comrades in Africa unfairly detained by their governments for seeking freedom. Biti was arrested alongside other freedom fighters in Zimbabwe for resisting attempts to extend the presidential term there to seven years and restrict the election of the President to members of Parliament only. It is disturbing to see this script, which Ugandans are already familiar with, being deployed in Zimbabwe as well. Biti's arrest is a cowardly attack on all citizens of Zimbabwe by a regime that cannot sustain open debate about their future without resorting to brute force. I call for his immediate, unconditional release together with the colleagues detained with him. The people of Zimbabwe deserve freedom, and leaders chosen by them. The struggle continues!

@LawOpio45404 @HEBobiwine @BitiTendai Political persecution is being jailed for your political beliefs. Usually pre-trial (since different politics isn't a crime, best they can do is arrest & toss you around the system for years as you remain incarcerated) Trump was prosecuted & convicted for crimes he committed.

@HEBobiwine @BitiTendai Political persecution is bad. However, it's not only an African thing. In the US, Donald Trump faced it, and he is now also going after his political opponents. The tools may differ, but the goal is the same.
