Before Python, Java, or even C++, there was Fortran—the first major programming language.
In 1957, John Backus and his team at IBM developed Fortran, making coding much easier than low-level machine code. Before Fortran, programmers had to write instructions in binary or assembly—slow and complicated.
Fortran changed everything. It allowed programmers to use simple, math-like commands, making it especially useful for scientists and engineers.
NASA even used Fortran to help land humans on the Moon.
Fortran set the stage for modern coding languages, and it’s still used today in scientific computing.

🚨 In opposition the Labour party strongly supported mandating swift bricks in new homes - that support included backing the swift brick amendment when it was tabled on Conservative government legislation in 2023.
Last November - in a move which shocked and left conservationists aghast - the Labour government used a three-line whip to vote down a House of Lords amendment to make the bricks mandatory for new buildings.
Help us send a message to Keir Starmer’s government that its time to SAVE OUR SWIFTS

Tried the SO-50 pass at 2034z. Home QTH has become worse over the past 5 years working from home, so I barely heard anyone. Leisure passes will probably require higher elevations, and I still disfavor V/U mode. I will try the SO-50 again at 2213z.

It’s been a while. Very very sorry. I know a lot has changed in the satellite community. What have I missed so I can catch up and make some passes? I really need to get back outside waving a yagi in the air.
