This is a wild thing to ask of people. “You should pause your thinking and wait for me to return before forming opinions” Not only is this unrealistic, it’s borderline cult-like. People are allowed to process information in real time and come to their own conclusions. If opinions shift when you’re gone, that doesn’t mean something went wrong. It usually means the narrative you’re trying to maintain can’t stand on its own without constant reinforcement.

I’m going on vacation for a week. I trust that nothing significant will happen in the news while I’m gone. If it does, I only ask that everyone refrain from forming opinions about it until I return.
