Wayne LaPierre just announced his resignation after more than 30 years as CEO of the NRA and just three days before he stands trial in a case brought by @NewYorkStateAG for alleged financial mismanagement and self-dealing. LaPierre’s alleged financial misconduct included $274,000 in spending at a high-end Italian clothing boutique in Beverly Hills, a luxury trip on a mega yacht to the Bahamas for him and his wife three days after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook School, and approximately $2 million on private flights in just one year, among other lavish expenses on the NRA’s dime. For years, Wayne LaPierre has pushed an agenda that has cost countless lives, fueled armed extremism, and endangered our communities. His legacy will be one of corruption, mismanagement, and destruction. The trial begins on Monday. Thoughts and prayers to Wayne LaPierre and the NRA.

Officials have released the names of two of the three victims killed yesterday in a mass shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Professors Cha Jan "Jerry" Chang, 64, and Patricia Navarro Velez, 39 were killed. The third victim has been identified, but relatives have not been notified. The gunman had applied for a college professorship at UNLV but was not hired. #EndGunViolence

At the Annual Vigil for Gun Violence Victims, our champions stood alongside hundreds of survivors and victims to honor the lost. Notably absent? Any "pro-life" politician. If they truly aim to save lives and protect kids, they'd stand with victims, and fight for the living.
