It's increasingly clear to me that this website is broken beyond repair. Keeping my account open for now, but most likely will be more active on Bluesky.

Whole blood in trauma has generated enormous interest. Today, @SWiFT_trial in @NEJM provides the clearest randomised evidence so far on whether prehospital whole blood improves outcomes in life-threatening traumatic haemorrhage: tinyurl.com/SWiFTNEJM

@orlafee1 @CaitRoisc A primary school teacher once told me the correct response in such a situation was "Dia is Muire is Pádraig duit"; and in turn, if that was offered as the greeting, the response was "Dia is Muire is Pádraig is Bríd duit". Have obviously never seen in real life...

@CaitRoisc A London workmate used to greet me with ‘Dia is Muire Duit’ and I found it impossible to respond well because it was in the wrong order. I also didn’t want to correct him or explain.

If the person who said Dia duit to me outside the Cultúrlann in Derry is reading this I'm sorry it took a good 60 seconds before I realised and issued my Dia is Muire duit

Truly the world needs to boycott the World Cup and boycott the Olympics. The US is not a safe country for visitors.

Great and timely to see this published -A narrative review of where we are with DEFAULT VIDEOLARYNGOSCOPYL -busting myths -describing challenges -highlighting experiences of those who've already done it As the @dasairway 2025 guidelines have ushered in the era where default VL is expected, & will soon become the standard, I encourage you to read it …-publications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/an… @Anaes_Journal @Fionafionakel

"Do that thing Nick Chrimes made up, I can't remember what it's called" has to be the best recommendation @dasairway has ever made! 😂 I couldn't be more chuffed.

Just reading the 2025 @dasairway guidelines supplementary materials: bjanaesthesia.org.uk/cms/10.1016/j.… The non-technical skills section is an absolute gold - it offers very useful practical steps how to address the issues may arise at plan A B C and D. ping @NicholasChrimes What is it?

@fallon_donal @PeteFarrell14 Did you ever do an episode on Phibsborough, Dónal? Plenty of social history in the shops and built environment.

@BoarnieB @philipnolan1 That's a lie. The only language the census collects data about is Irish. In 2022 were 93,680 Polish citizens in the state. There were 1,873,997 people who could speak Irish (of which 195,029 could speak it very well).

@Britains___Pubs @VinnieSull1van @ChelseaDan5 @PintsO_Guinness All absolute nonsense of course. The pouring of it was always (and still is) a marketing ploy. The longer the drink is sat on the bar waiting, the more likely people are to order it. I've done blind taste tests in my mates pub - no one can tell the difference.

It’s sort of weird how Wikipedia still just works and it’s still great. You’d feel it’d be enormously degrading like fucking everything else nowadays. Fair play Wikipedia.
