Workers have become vastly more productive than they were 20 years ago, generating trillions more in wealth. That wealth is now in the hands of the top .1%.

A lot of people adding dead weight need to extract their value from somewhere, so yes it does necessarily add a financial burden to the rest of the people in the system who are actually contributing. You'll see it in a rising cost of living, and assume fair pay is too low because it can't keep up. This is where a lot of people fail to understand what's going on, where a lot of people make the mistake of thinking raising minimum wage can help (it can't). The dollar value doesn't matter, only the number of people exploiting the system.

So, my husband woke up today and decided to make my life actively annoying.
