TODAY IN HISTORY: The 225th Anniversary of the arrival of Philemon Wright and his group to what is today called Ottawa-Gatineau on March 7, 1800. The establishment of the first permanent non-Indigenous home in the Ottawa Valley. There is no plaque, no commemoration, not even a marker where this historic home once stood.
