@AlexRMcColl @NoahGairn @CDNPolicyHawk The RCAF has been strongly pushing for more CH-149s off the line in Halifax to replace the SAR configured CH-146s at Cold Lake, Bagotville and Goosebay. I'm inclined to think it might be related to that.

@northdud @WHMTE @RCAF_ARC Incorrect, we have the people to maintain a mixed fleet already. Full time technicians to constantly work on F-35's to keep them airworthy, and guys to keep fueling up Gripens. Both already exist.

Well that really upsets the apple cart doesn’t it?! First time I can recall a senior serving Air Force officer publicly make that assessment. Wonder what is the view of @RCAF_ARC on this declaration?

@northdud @NoahGairn I think it’s likely, but the launcher itself is throwing me off. Maybe a placeholder, or not. It doesn’t look like any of the existing JAGM navalized launchers, unless it’s a custom below deck mount brought above deck or something like ExLS in an above deck config.

We got a new model for the River-class today! I think quite a few of you will be happy.

@perfidiousleaf @NoahGairn when i was talking to Noah about this a few weeks ago one of things I theorized was that its a JAGM Quad Launcher.

@northdud @NoahGairn I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s some kind of lower footprint supplement to the ships closer in weapon systems, given the adoption of JAGM on US warships in various forms now and into the future. Relatively low cost and potentially reloadable at sea.
