@JasonForCroydon You claim our roads are worth £2bn, so 17.5m is investing 0.875% of their worth to restore an absolutely crippled asset.

We’re investing £17.5m to improve Croydon’s roads, pavements and tackle flooding hotspots. That’s double the level of investment under the previous Labour administration. I'm focused on the long-term work to keep Croydon moving safely and reliably. jasonperry.uk/resurfacing

This decision changed throughout the day…..couldn’t be split on the stats & World goalie of the year (4each) I went for Cech just for his performance in Munich in the clubs biggest ever game. I might change again the future 🤷‍♂️😅

@SkySportsPL Schmeichel is the clear No.1. He didn’t just dominate his era, he redefined what a modern goalkeeper should be and changed coaching forever IMO.

@quantmaxxer @theisaacmed Good or not is a massively open question and I could argue either side, but I was just making the point about the impact of software companies as we know it. There's a lot of problems with the way things are now as well.

@quantmaxxer @theisaacmed The point is that software as a concept now is personal. The SaaS model (or every business model) could become extinct. It's a huge paradigm shift. This user might never become a customer of any SaaS company. Why would they learn how to use existing products and beg for features

You don’t understand. I was using Claude to help me set up some formulas for an excel sheet that I use to forecast revenue. Claude suggested we build a web app instead due to limited excel functionality. I then spent 3 hours standing up a full web app that is an interactive cashflow model that is fully custom to my business and has more robust capabilities than excel. It sends me a slack message if things dip below a certain $ amount. Flags me if I need to review something that our team is doing. It auto populates data from Quickbooks and sends an email to our internal bookkeeper if there is an error. I am not technical. It walked me through setting up a db. Setting up Vercel. I can ask for any feature I want and it can seemingly add it and walk me through updating GitHub. I can ask questions. It doesn’t get annoyed It feels like a video game.

@TheAthleticFC @TimSpiers It's a good tactic for Tuchel and England to remove media distractions during the World Cup but it won't change him leaving after the World Cup if he and Man I want each other.

Thomas Tuchel’s new England contract makes sense. It squashes speculation linking him to club jobs, offers stability and suggests he is enjoying the role. But he still needs a good World Cup. An early exit, and this may feel like Fabio Capello all over again. 📝 @TimSpiers 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/70410…

My ex in 2018 broke up with me because “video games are for losers” Video games are consistently ranked as the least attractive hobby from a woman perspective. This reality of the world sits so weirdly with my lived reality. In 2017, I was 15th in the world in Halo 5. 15th out of 10 million players or the top 0.000015% of that video game. In 2026, my LinkedIn account sits at about the same percentile standing as my Halo 5 account did and makes me millions per year. My strategy to achieve both of these results was exactly the same. Relentless obsession every single day for 3-4 years. I want to be the very best at whatever I put my mind to. Video games are an amazing training ground for competition. Using video games as a tool to build your competitive or creative drive is a powerful thing. Using video games as an escape from reality can be damaging over the long term and this is what women are picking up on Becoming a winner in a low stakes environment makes it easier to become one in a high stakes environment

@RedMarrow_ You're thick. His point was that if Odegaard is currently playing how Arteta wants, then don't bother with Eze. But if it's that Odegaard is personally off form, then Eze deserves a chance. When asked overall,he says Odegaard should start, assuming he's in form and allowed to attack.

Watching Stick to Football after a long time, Wright has a 15-minute rant about 'Something needs to change at Arsenal,' mentions Eze deserving a chance over Ødegaard, etc., and when Gary asks him what team he would go for, ends up naming Ødegaard over Eze. 😂

@TheUtdArchive The sub plot is how Giggs let him hit it. New players had to get on board with our mentality, but they also had freedom to shine.

🚨🧠 | A story about mentality: Wayne Rooney on not feeling SPECIAL after scoring a hattrick on his #MUFC debut, because he was just another winner in a dressing room full of winners. “There’s a free-kick on the edge of the Fenerbahçe area and Giggsy, with all his amazing ability and experience, puts the ball down to take it, but I want it. I’ve got bucketloads of confidence and I fancy my chances, just like I did whenever I got into the ring with a bigger lad in Uncle Richie’s boxing gym. I just know I’m going to score - it’s mad, I can almost sense it’s going to happen. ‘Giggsy, I’m putting this one away.’ He hands the ball over and I curl a shot into the top left-hand corner, easy as you like. Goal number three, a hat-trick on my Old Trafford debut. We win 6-2. In the dressing room afterwards everyone is in a state of shock. I don’t think anybody can believe what I’ve just done. I can’t either. Rio sits there shaking his head, looking at me like I’ve just landed from outer space. The older lads like Gary Nev and Giggsy are thinking the same thing, I can tell, but they keep it in. They’ve probably seen amazing stuff like this loads of times before with players like Cantona and Beckham, so they stay silent; not wanting to build me up just yet. To them, my hattrick is part of another day at the office, just like it is to the manager, who shakes my hand and tells me I’ve made a good start to my United career. Nobody’s getting carried away. There isn’t a massive party afterwards, no one’s getting bevvied or hitting the town. Instead, everyone goes home. But not me, I haven’t even got a gaff to go to. Coleen and I are living out of a hotel while we look for a new house, so to celebrate the start of my Old Trafford career we order room service and watch the highlights on tv, but it all seems so weird. I feel numb. The strangest thing is, I don’t feel like I’m on the verge of anything special. I don’t feel like a special player. I’ve never felt that way. Tonight as we sit eating our room service tea I feel confident, confident that I have the ability to help United win games and trophies, but I can see that everyone else in the dressing room has the ability to do that, too. At Old Trafford I’m nothing special; I’m not a standout player. But I reckon I can help United to be a standout team.”
