My goat in the club at the moment is this guy 🐐 He jinks to the left. He jinks to the right...get the ball on his left foot and it's almost certain to be a goal 🎯

@PlayGOALS I have hundreds of examples just like this. Opponent sits back, allows defensive Ai to cover for their lack of ability, and then hit two pass counter attacks to be through on goal. This is a very clear design choice by EA to increase player retention and flatten the skill gap.

If I face an opponent in @PlayGOALS who is this far off my level, the score will be something like 10-0. And the same is true when I face an opponent vastly superior to me. If you dominate the game, you dominate the scoreline. I absolutely love that!

Another aspect of why @PlayGOALS is a superior skill gapped game compared to FC is perfectly shown below. A Champs game where my opponent isn't close to my level, but is kept in the game constantly by @EASPORTSFC game design. Look at the statistics and pass map.

@PlayGOALS There are obviously a ton of areas FC is superior to GOALS at this stage, but GOALS being vastly more manual means that the skill gap is astronomically larger, and a truer match up of human vs human player.

After 50+ games on @PlayGOALS this week I went back to FC26 to compare. What immediately stood out is how much of FC26 gameplay just happens without user input. You quickly realise how an awful lot of the game you are playing vs Ai not your human opponent.

@GOALSdegen Only played one game in elite. Got the win. I felt the match felt much quicker. As in opponent was more decisive and felt so confident on the ball. Will see how the rest go.

How's everyone getting on in the Knockout mode in GOALS? Blitzed through Gold, 1 loss to a very good player. Let's see what Elite is all about eh?

@andreas is the design choice in goals to prioritise 1 on 1 dribbling and pace over pass and move?

@andreas @andreas any thought to adding position modifiers, or players gaining more positions as they evolve? Frustrating to have top players who do not fit your formation. My club legend Mohammed, 21 y/o Somali winger is the perfect ST, and plays there, but frustrating he loses stats

@StallionSama Love the game stallion, so much potential and already very fun and addictive. Think the cursor choice does add skill. Main issue for me is the game feels very basketball 1v1 rather than football pass and move at the moment. A surprise given your passion for pass and move!

Ultimately for GOALS, not seeing the indicator is the better fit. Games fast, ultra-responsive, dribbling is very strong already, second player press can help but doesn't do much for you + it has been heavily nerfed Therefore, hiding it offers us the greater net positive 🫡

Surprised how many mentioned not being able to see opponents indicator in @PlayGOALS Nothing revolutionary in football games, but the reasoning is simple & intentional: From a Skill POV both have pros/cons We buy into our choice as the one with the larger net positive🤝👇
