Isn't the mention of ADUO, the ultimate red alert....?
(ADUO is essentially a technical safety net. If a Power Unit manufacturer is more than 2% off the "Performance Index" of the leader (Mercedes), the FIA allows extra test-bench hours and re-homologation paths to close the gap.)
No wonder Max was counting the laps.

🚨 Laurent Mekies: We expect to be among the group that receives ADUO.
Laurent Mekies was asked about the possible updates from ADUO, but first addressed the problems at Red Bull - "Regarding the critical aspects: we don't think there is one specific area where there are shortcomings. We think it is across the board. It's the chassis, the power unit — it's everything."
"It is difficult to assess your performance relative to the competition, especially in the game of energy deployment and such. But to answer your question as directly as possible: we think Mercedes is clearly ahead. And since they are clearly ahead, we expect to be part of the group that receives ADUO."

@AstonMartinF1 "we do not comment on rumour and speculation."
Then what are you doing now?

Seemingly some people thought that Red Bull was going to get away with losing every major player on the team (not named Max) in 2 years, and build their own engine in wake of a huge regulation change all at once, and somehow be at the front?
I mean I get it, I wish they did better too, but I just feel like this result was so incredibly obvious, even if incredibly disappointing

My post-China thoughts:
Congrats to Kimi on both the win, and being F1’s youngest ever pole-sitter. Great job 👏🏾 I’m glad he’s got that out the way, I think he can now look toward giving George a good run in this title fight.
Ferrari made that race today. Long may the Lewis/Charles battles continue because without them …😬. I hope that they can find that extra pace needed to fight for wins because there’s only so much we can enjoy battles for 3rd. The novelty of great starts, knowing that Merc will comfortably win out in the end, will wear off quickly.
These new chassis/aero regs are actually the only thing we needed for better racing. I think the PU’s *currently* detract from it. Let’s see what solutions come 🤷🏾♂️
A tough weekend for the Bulls. Isack did well to recover, and I’m glad he got all those race laps under his belt today after the failure in Oz!
The poor starts have been brutal to watch. I love to give my controls engineering buddies a bit of stick, but it really is an art form and I can’t imagine how much more difficult these PU’s make it. Brutal to watch Max go backwards today. This was never going to be an easy year. If you thought that a team would build an incredible factory and design & manufacture a completely faultless PU in four years, and go on to instant success, then you really don’t understand the technical challenge that is F1.
As I’ve said previously, if there’s any outfit in the paddock that can make this work, it’s ORBR. It’s a process. We’ve had tough years before, when we do, we dig deep!
If Aston have a car that is putting drivers health genuinely at risk, the FIA need to take note. Driver safety is their most important job!
Finally, a question for all of you…
What race in 2026, if any, will we see all 22 cars start a race from the grid?
English

@F1JayyUK Its the first engine they made themself, so there always be problems. Thats is just how it is with new engine regulations. Aero and chassis can be fixed, bc it is a development race now and they lost quite a few key figures. It is just the second race of the season.

@f1isabadsport Difference is the GE regs still took driver ability into account, the current ones don’t.

@reapzz_m @F1BigData Weird. Both redbull drivers and lawson reported the same issue.

@F1BigData George and Kimi said they had no battery energy before starting. How much would this have affected the start?

@mojo3301 @dr_obbs The williams car is a fat fuck
Alpine is alpine
Mclaren as a customer team will never fully utilise the PU in comparism to a works team who can built the chassis and engine in unison whereas mclaren has to make compromises. Also mclaren had some energy deployment isues in qualie.

@denkmit And f1 has @f1multiviewer who gives you even more data to watch the race with

@yelistener Why are you calling it the ford engine? Its a rbpt/ford or redbull/ford. Ford entered when the engine was already 2 years in development.
