Today, we announced more than $10B in investment across Taiwan’s ecosystem to scale advanced packaging and accelerate next-gen AI infrastructure, from 6th Gen EPYC CPUs codenamed “Venice” to our Helios rack-scale platform including Instinct MI450X GPUs, with multi-gigawatt deployments beginning in 2H 2026. Additionally, AMD and TSMC have hit another major production milestone, with Venice EPYC CPUs ramping on TSMC 2nm technology in Taiwan with future plans to ramp production at TSMC’s Arizona Fab. The real story in V4 is the engineering, not the capability.
A hybrid attention mechanism combining Compressed Sparse Attention and Heavily Compressed Attention cuts single-token inference FLOPs and KV-cache memory at long context. Cost-to-serve drops over 10x versus v3.2. The 1M context window works on price. The capability uplift hasn't followed yet.
This is also the floor. V4 is still in pre-release, just as V3 was. The full model is what the community is waiting for.

@Thinkwert I kinda get the impression that during those parts we're seeing it from the point of view of an omniscient being so that's why we're getting the stage directions, but who knows if that's what Melville had in mind.

Most the chapters between the boarding of the Pequod and the final chase alternate in their genre. You don't just get faux-Shakespearean scenes -- you also get faux-encyclopedia entries about Whales, faux-philosophical essays, and so forth. The book has a very post-modern feel to it.

It’s very odd that despite all the abundance of this century, it still lacks an aesthetic, no major non political and purely artistic movement, no "new avant garde," despite all the complains about individualism, conformity and "community" have never been so overwhelmingly present, weird. Maybe some movements are taking shape and I don’t see them yet.
