Often asked why Western Cape’s #COVID19 mortality (3485 out of 100,536 cases today) is much higher than Gauteng’s (2761 out of 194,585 cases). It’s not. It relates to underreporting deaths. ~5-fold diff reported deaths in GT relative to excess deaths vs ~1.5-fold difference WC
