Do you all still think he has good intentions? Or a plan? This statement also implies any alleged “plan” involved younger and potentially more extremist hardliners, as opposed to any democratic future for Iran.

Yesterday, Barak Ravid suggested on CNN Larijani was in consideration as possible transitional figure, and NYT implied the same. Today, Ravid went on CNN and said, no, the plan is the complete elimination of the regime, even as Lindsey Graham in the very same news cycle rubbished regime change as the strategic objective. Now Trump says in an interview with NYT he has "three very good choices" to lead Iran. He won't say if one is Larijani. At this rate, Steve Witkoff could turn up in a black turban in Tehran and we'd see 🚨 emojis and "Why it matters" items as if what came before never did.
