@USA_Polling This is one of those thoughts that sounds super edgy & witty, until you think about it for longer than a minute.

I'm a big fan of the idea that once you hit a billion dollars, you get a plaque in a park saying that you won at capitalism and everything you make over a billion is taxed at 100%

BREAKING: Elon Musk’s odds of becoming a trillionaire this year hits 82% — a record high.

@boycereads Dunno if you've checked out Peter F Hamilton, maybe start with Pandora's Star.
Also Andy Weir for his Martian & PJM.
Hyperion been recommended plenty as well but definitely in there

People who carried their cellphone in their LEFT pocket for 30,000+ hours were 12x more likely to develop a colon tumor on that SAME side.
12 TIMES.
Phone goes in the satchel, not your pocket.

Bring Back Men’s Satchel. Not for fashion. But for survival. When your cellphone is in your pocket, It is effectively 0mm from your skin. Put it in a satchel and you gain at least 2-3cm of distance. Thanks to the Inverse Square Law, Going from 0mm to 2cm cuts the near-field radiation intensity by more than 10x That small gap creates a massive drop in the wireless RF radiation your body absorbs. Get the cellphone out of your pocket. Get a Bag. Make Men's Satchel Great Again!

A single shot that slows your biological clock. Five aging markers improved. Benefits lasting 4+ years.
New study (n=3,884, US Health and Retirement Study)
Shingles vaccination was associated with:
-> Lower inflammation (p=0.003)
-> Slower epigenetic aging (p=0.0001)
-> Slower transcriptomic aging (p<0.0001)
-> Lower composite biological aging score (p=0.0002)
The mechanism: chickenpox virus hides in your nerve cells for life. As you age, it reactivates silently, fueling chronic inflammation even without causing shingles. Suppressing that reactivation removes a hidden accelerant of biological aging.
The shingles vaccine is recommended for adults 50+ and covered at no cost by most insurance plans.
Vaccines aren’t just for preventing infection anymore. They’re longevity tools.

@SawyerMerritt I genuinely can't see where to access this menu. Is it available in all regions?

@StephenKing People make mistakes. All the time. Not many people apologise for them, and that does count for something.
English

I was wrong, and I apologize. I have deleted the post.

I'd say Stephen King should be ashamed of himself, but what's the point?

@CollinRugg All that and you missed 'bland new logo'. It was right there Collin!
English

JUST IN: Cracker Barrel stock nosedives over 14% after they unveiled their new bland logo.
The company decided to ditch its iconic logo as part of its new rebrand, prompting harsh backlash, but CEO Julie Felss Masino is convinced people love the changes.
The company is also remodeling its restaurants and ditching its iconic interior of country-themed trinkets and dark woods.

@ConceptualJames Scientists (and NASA) use metric. If they used Imp they probably would have missed the moon by approx 6250 tomatoes.

@PhilWeaks @TheCinesthetic @grok Grok, should Phil give up pretending that he is able to think for himself anymore
English

@TheCinesthetic @grok , is this an underappreciated sci-film of the last decade?
English

Edge of Tomorrow is one of the most solid, underappreciated sci-fi films of the last decade—and one of Tom Cruise’s best performances. Smart, action-packed, and endlessly rewatchable.
cinesthetic.@TheCinesthetic
Name the best sci-fi movie you've ever seen that is from the 21st century.
English

@GuyTalksFinance I've looked through your posts briefly and don't think you really engagement bait nor can I see why people are being shit. Sorry that's happening. People are always braver hiding behind a screen, and maybe this is the ugly way in which they deal with insecurities.
English

@thealepalombo How the hell did you mention all of that without mentioning China wanting to reclaim it.

@ricksteruk2 @cardano_yogi @WorldMobileTeam @TheDePINCat @EnsoNode @Jeff_R_DELTA @CloverNodes @TaxiManiYes @DrSpriggan @hopenothype_io Ah so it's not restarting those of us that have already been scanning for points with the current app
English

@GT_Walus @cardano_yogi @WorldMobileTeam @TheDePINCat @EnsoNode @Jeff_R_DELTA @CloverNodes @TaxiManiYes @DrSpriggan @hopenothype_io Yep.. it's an update. Scanning data upload has been improved and it's had the crypto and telco credit / shop removed which caused problems in some countries ( also Apple will not approve without taking their 30% ) - these will be done in the WM Web App instead.
