A few reports of a fireball over Margate this evening - inclined to think it’s this one in the meteor cameras at 19:19 UTC. Does anyone have any further reports?
Taking a break from tracking now as I'm heading down to the south coast to hopefully get some decent views of these storms as they push in.
Here's all the latest lightning & radar.
We've kicked off the weekend with widespread blue skies across the UK, as captured here by @chris_alpacas near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire ☀️
We'd love to see even more of your weather photos today 📸
Share them below and using #LoveUKWeather
Low risk of lightning overall from todays showers but given colder air aloft across the SE to allow for slightly deeper convection the likelihood of lightning is slightly higher here.
That's if showers develop that far east.
@brightonsnapper@sussex_police Sadly saw too many disgraceful and utterly foul mouthed drivers trying to get round people and driving too close and fast, whilst those driving sensibly with good distance between vehicles and at slow speed suffered their abuse and aggressive horn sounding!
WEATHER REPORT:
If you're currently underneath this band of rain, sleet & snow. What do you have falling out of the sky & where are you?
Ground reports help massively!
If you’re doing some #aurora watching tonight, send your pictures! Either here or via Weather Watchers. 📷🌌
Will look at them all and feature as many as I can on @BBCBreakfast in the morning 🤩
@UKStormUpdates well after 2hrs of constant lightning (avg 30p/m) it’s all of a sudden calmed right down in Brighton… hardly any rain still, just a small shower!
Several new #thunderstorms have developed in the English Channel, heading NW. Brighton could be a pretty good spot to be in right now if these storms don't die out!
