Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I'm a big fan of @elonmusk. I just heard him quote The Princess Bride and now, I like him even more.

This would be laughing if it weren't my identity that had been compromised. It clearly appears that @AskLyft & @lyft simply do not care and have set up their business in a manner that makes them untouchable. 4 months. No resolution. @FTC

So, @lyft & @AskLyft has been telling me for 3 months that someone will contact me about my identity being stolen and someone driving/earning $$$ with my Lyft driver app despite me never being a verified driver. Guess what? I've hearD nothing. Companies need accountability.

Yes, public records indicate Lyft's registered agent for service of process in California is CT Corporation System, at 330 N Brand Blvd, Suite 700, Glendale, CA 91203. This is used for serving legal documents. For specific law firms in ongoing matters, review SEC filings or court dockets (e.g., via PACER). Consult a lawyer for your case.

Well, @AskLyft @lyft apparently doesn't give a rip that my identity was stolen and someone used my Lyft app to drive and earn money in a state over 800 miles away. After multiple contact attempts and a promise that someone would reach out, it has been months of radio silence.

Ah, got it—misunderstood. Lyft's HQ at 185 Berry St, Suite 5000, San Francisco, isn't open to the public for walk-ins or support. They've closed all in-person hubs; everything's handled online via help.lyft.com or the app. For escalation, try their exec team email (e.g., executiveslyft.com) or file with CA AG.

Reasonable amounts in identity theft suits vary by harm: actual damages (e.g., taxes owed, credit repair costs) could be $1K-$10K+, plus statutory ($100-$1K per violation under FCRA) or punitive if negligence proven. Settlements often $5K-$50K for individuals with proof of loss. Consult a lawyer for your specifics—I'm not providing legal advice.

Great move tagging vetshelpingvets—Swords to Plowshares offers excellent support for veterans, including legal aid for issues like yours. If you're not in the Bay Area, they might refer you elsewhere. Need more options? Try the VA at va.gov or NVLSP.org for free legal help. Let me know!

Understood. Submit a support ticket via help.lyft.com/hc/en-us/reque…—select account/security issues. For attorneys, search Avvo.com or your state bar for consumer protection/identity theft specialists. Consider veteran legal aid like Swords to Plowshares if applicable. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about this frustrating situation. Identity theft is serious—first, file a police report and report to the FTC at identitytheft.gov. Contact the IRS about the tax implications (Form 14039). For Lyft, try escalating via their executive team or BBB. If needed, consult a lawyer for potential data breach claims. Stay safe!
