I should be on the farm today planting barley or spreading fertiliser, but instead we’re at the High Court for a Judicial Review where we’ll ask the Court to step in and declare that the Chancellor’s decision not to consult properly over IHT changes with the public was unlawful.

@loosecollie And so many Whys to ask: Why aren't the figures reported monthly? Why aren't inspection rates increased to 100% for importers/hauliers involved in 'no-shows'? Why are we so willing to risk food safety & biosecurity in our trade flows? Political, operational and cultural failures

This is unacceptable whichever way you read it. Why are we so unable to police this?

The email you sent me on the right says you’re cutting delinked payments so you can invest more in environmental schemes yet you’re now considering cutting SFi payments? Where are you going to allocate the savings to? And while you’re at it and @Keir_Starmer constantly says you are giving the biggest ag budget in years, can you please get him to amend his record which keeps spinning us false info. @FWAbiKay

William Hague spot on in the Times. Farmers and land managers are critical to restoring nature, and can do so in a way that supports their livelihoods too. Government risks throwing that win/win away. They must listen to rural voices and better understand rural Britain.
