So when Islamists carved out a portion of Hindu’s indigenous sacred land, the indigeneity didn’t transfer over to the Pakistanis.
That’s not how that works.
The only thing folks accomplish when they “point out” that land that is a part of ancient Hindu civilization is now a part of Pakistan is that Pakistan is on stolen land. In many ways, because of Pakistan’s ethnic cleansing of Hindus and its mass and systematic destruction of Hindu sacred sites, it could be considered an apartheid state.

I fully support historians writing on foreign cultures. We still value the contributions of Megasthenes, Xuanzang, and Strabo etc

I don't know why you are asking me, when you can just go look it up yourself. Brahmanism was based on the Vedas, especially the Brahmanas and early Upanishads. Hinduism evolved from Brahmanism through interaction with non-Vedic traditions, incorporating temple worship, devotional practices, and the epic and Puranic literature. Brahamanism focused on rituals, and Hinduism focused on bhakti. Brahmanism stressed devotion to Brahman. Hinduism developed the prominent Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) and the huge pantheon of deities seen as manifestations of Brahman.

Well, even I have been attacked by Hindutva ideologues for the last 6 years. Now imagine if someone has experienced this hatred for a lot longer, as Dr. Truschke has. I might react in much the same way. Regarding her portrayal of Muslim rulers, I have to ask you, which seems more ideologically-motivated: 1) saying a Muslim ruler probably was not as evil as the legends say, or 2) saying that the legends of a Muslim ruler being the epitome of evil must be true, because I hate Muslims?

Unlike you actual scholarship is far more humble in accepting the links of the ritual tradition of the IVC with the Vedic (especially Rigvedic) religion, and acknowledging the absence of evidence of any Steppe incursion in 2nd millennium BCE India

The oldest IVC site is Bhirrana. The largest IVC settlement is Rakhigarhi. Both are in Haryana, India. India also has more IVC sites than Pakistan. We have greater cultural continuity with the IVC in terms of jewelry, and religious symbols such as the Swastika, Pashupati seal. If heritage is the argument, modern India and Hindus has a far stronger claim to the Indus Valley Civilization than Pakistan.
