At a pivotal moment for Europe–India relations, we’re proud to announce the launch of GMF’s new India Initiative. Building on more than fifteen years of expertise, this initiative is led by GMF’s Garima Mohan (@GarimaMo ), PhD, one of the leading voices on European and transatlantic engagement with and in India. It will strengthen European understanding of India and deepen cooperation across trade, technology, security, and beyond. It will also open new avenues for US–Europe–India trilateral collaboration at a time when partnership across democracies is more important than ever. This is an exciting next step in our work to connect decisionmakers, business leaders and partners, generate actionable policy ideas, and drive long-term impact.

A wrap-up meeting with EU HRVP @kajakallas in Brussels. Thanked her for inviting me to the Foreign Affairs Council meeting. Our conversations on various bilateral and global issues were enriching. Agreed to maintain close and continuing contact.

The positive momentum of the EU–India relationship continues. A pleasure to meet with @DrSJaishankar here in Brussels. Following our Summit in January, we are now working to deliver the benefits of EU-India partnership for our citizens. We also discussed the current geopolitical situation, which makes our cooperation, grounded in shared values and principles, more important than ever.

🇮🇳 Great to see my colleague @DrSJaishankar again here in Brussels. In these geopolitically turbulent times, his presence in the European capital sends an important signal about the strength of the EU-India relationship. India is a partner of growing strategic importance for Belgium and for Europe. Today, we agreed to take our bilateral relationship to the next level by establishing a Strategic Dialogue between our two countries. We had a productive exchange on intensifying our cooperation in trade and investment, health, technology and innovation. We also discussed international stability, the security of maritime routes and the need for resilient supply chains. Issues where India's role is indispensable. Good meeting with @DrSJaishankar today. At the EU-India Summit in January, we concluded our Free Trade Agreement – the mother of all deals – and signed a Security and Defence Partnership. Now we are focused on efficient implementation, to deliver for the people of Europe and India as soon as possible. We also discussed developments in the Middle East and in Ukraine. De-escalation, stability and energy security are our shared objectives.

Secretary (West) @AmbSibiGeorge hosted a luncheon for Nordic Ambassadors in New Delhi. They discussed ways to further strengthen relations between India and the Nordic countries, focusing on trade & investment, digital technologies, AI, quantum, renewable energy, clean technologies, the Arctic and space. They underscored the importance of leveraging both the India-EU FTA and India-EFTA TEPA.

Started Day 2 in Brussels, meeting with FM @prevotmaxime of Belgium. Discussed intensifying our cooperation in trade & investment, semiconductors, health, technology & innovation. Agreed to establish a Strategic Dialogue. 🇮🇳 🇧🇪

Arrived in Brussels for consultations with #EuropeanUnion counterparts. Look forward to my meetings starting this evening.

EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Brussels, Belgium from 15-16 March 2026 at the invitation of European Union (EU) High Representative and Vice President Kaja Kallas to interact with Foreign Ministers of the 27 EU Member States at the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting.

After talks between S. Jaishankar and Abbas Araghchi, Iran allowed India-flagged tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz, even as US/EU ships face restrictions—securing India’s crude and LNG supply lines amid the West Asia conflict.

After last few days in Nepal trying to understand elections' dynamic I am heading off to Delhi for @raisinadialogue This will be my 10th Raisina, and given the turmoil in West Asia, even more interesting and timely.

Despite the crisis in the Middle East, Europe-India visits continue. After leader level visits this year from 🇩🇪🇪🇺🇫🇷🇪🇸, now the Finnish President is set to visit & inaugurate #RaisinaDialogue2026

Travelling on a state visit to India. I will meet with President of India @rashtrapatibhvn and Prime Minister @narendramodi as well as other members of the state leadership. The visit will further strengthen the relations between Finland and India – including in the area of trade.
