@Jetlife_Ryan_ @UsherNBA He used that move to get free throws. Who is he getting by right here 🤣? He got that record the year before they changed the rule. And people still never called him a free throw merchant. Maybe because he still led the league in scoring even after the rule change 🤷🏿‍♂️.

@trac3da @eeengine @Boogie2x_ Either he's not responsible for that particular play, or the gameplan was not good. The Knicks ran the Cavs off the court in the last couple of games. It's not surprising if that was the plan lol. It does not take an expert to see that.

@GarrenLephan @UsherNBA You all believe that he isn’t getting fouled while he’s falling which is the disconnect just because he sells the call doesn’t mean he’s not being fouled he’s not tricking the refs he’s actually getting fouled and you just don’t like the way it looks which isn’t Shai’s problem

@Jetlife_Ryan_ @UsherNBA It's a deep dive into the data. Fans have said it for a while, but this data confirms it. He falls a lot and gets free throws on a fair amount of the falls. Both things happen at a significantly higher rate for him than it does for other players.

@sharpshotBRob @DustinT_NBA Yes. If free throws are the point and not the actual shot, it's lazy. The reward for getting your defender in the air on a pump fake is a much better look at the basket, not automatic free throws.

@sharpshotBRob @DustinT_NBA What's rewarding bad defense? Like I said, the defender is already at a disadvantage by falling for the pump fake. But as a fan of basketball, I like seeing the offensive player get buckets. So get a bucket instead of just lazily jumping into the defender.

@GarrenLephan @DustinT_NBA Brunson, Harden, SGA etc have such elite footwork they put their defenders in a bind 20 ft from the hoop. Why should they not try to score as efficiently as possible when defenders are put into a disadvantageous position Why reward bad defense?

@sharpshotBRob @DustinT_NBA 🤣🤣 "y'all don't know the difference" because we want offensive players to actually try to score instead of just trying to get to the free throw line. Shoot the ball while the defender is coming down, spin, step through. There are so many actual basketball options.
