so far at least, i'm pretty sure AI has been net job-creating. this was not what i expected--although i was much less pessimistic than others, i thought by this level of capability we'd have seen some impact. it is possible this direction keeps going!

@kcnaija @101sfinance @sama I didnt say Mid software engineers. I said programmers. AI has replaced mid level programmers. "Programmers" in this context is where a software engineer gives a blueprint to a programmer and the programmer types it and debugs it.

@GarzaInvestment @101sfinance @sama AI isn’t replacing junior level programmers not just yet. Unless you have examples of where you did so. We all thought it would but the reality mid 2026 is totally different.

@101sfinance @sama There is absolutely a correlation. They need the capital to afford Capex and some of the easier roles such as JR level programmers can be replaced by AI.

@sama I honestly think these layoffs are just the result of companies hiring too many people. So there's no major correlation to AI.

BREAKING: US announces it has hit over 80 targets with precision munitions in tonight's strikes on Iran, including more than 60 IRGC speed boats in and near the Strait of Hormuz, per CENTCOM. US strikes also targeted Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, and anti-ship missile capabilities. US officials say these are the largest attacks on Iran since the April ceasefire and may continue in the coming days.

@blueroomtrader @unusual_whales The Trump accounts have a long lock up period. The adult accounts would be similar to 401k's where you can not take it out until retirement. Stimulus is the last thing Trump wants as it will just result in a major Fed rate hike.
