The answer is a resounding yes. The ads have delivered over £1 billion in extra sales revenue for John Lewis over the years. With profit ROIs varying from 8:1 to 10:1, this is some of the most profitable advertising I have ever seen.

Thanks @danbarker, I had no idea that @JRMoehringer was responsible for ‘Shoe Dog’. It is one of the best non-fiction books I’ve ever read. I remember at the time thinking “Wow, Phil Knight is an incredible writer!”
