Politkovskaya, Litvinenko, Magnitsky, Nemtsov, Navalny are only some of the most well-known names on the long list of critics killed by Putin. There was outrage after each murder, but Putin eventually got away with it, and world leaders shook his hand again. This encouraged him to continue killing people. Today, some voices continue to call for Putin to be heard and negotiated with. It is time to end the naiveté. Before any meaningful engagement with Moscow can begin, Russia must be defeated in Ukraine and Putin must finally learn a lesson.

There's no rational reason other than greed for Novo Nordisk to charge $12,000 a year for Ozempic in the United States while that same exact drug can be purchased for just $2,000 in Canada & $750 in Germany. It's time for the pharmaceutical industry to stop ripping off Americans.

It is not anti-semitic to challenge Israel’s war crimes against Palestinians. It is a label used to cynically silence criticism.

As you celebrate Christmas in your peaceful homes, please spare a thought for Ukrainian soldiers defending Europe from an evil empire. Many of them haven't seen their families for a very long time and will spend this Christmas in trenches, holding the line. Eternal gratitude 🙏

How much pain can a person take? How much pain can a family share? How much pain can a nation bear? How much pain can humanity witness? These are questions that we should never know the answer to. These are questions that should never even be asked. But here we are. With Israel and the United States making sure they are answered and fast. I never thought I would confront these questions again after working on the Khmer Rouge Tribunals and being face to face with people convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity. But here I am. Here we are. Once again at the doorstep of the very worst of human nature. 4 minutes ago

We are deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza. We have lost contact with some of our Palestinian colleagues on the ground. We are particularly worried for the patients, medical staff and thousands of families taking shelter at Al Shifa hospital and other health facilities.

The medical field did not miss this. It was well reported and early. Medical administrators, health care officials, and political organizations dodged this most of the pandemic to avoid paying the $ necessary to clean indoor air.

When COVID-19 surfaced in 2020, the medical field missed something, and it cost lives. Airborne viruses can travel much further than originally thought. To curb infection, we should have focused on indoor air systems. @DrLaPook reports, Sunday. 60Minutes.com

We absolutely cannot allow DEI to be an afterthought. If cancer centers are going to serve the populations of today and tomorrow, we must let go of yesterday’s mindset.

“How are we going to not only create the environment for DEI but also make sure that it’s not just a box to check?” -@DrRobWinn poses a question to cancer centers attending the #AACI23 session, “The SCOTUS Affirmative Action Ruling: Gauging the Impact on Cancer Centers.” #DEI

the pride flag I wear is to let patients who are LGBTQ (a group that has faced discrimination and disparities in healthcare) know that they are safe to be themselves with me as their doctor it’s not “political” to want your patients to feel safe when it comes to their health
Grazie Pozo Christie, M.D.@GChristiemd

The pride flag, on a lanyard, for instance, is experienced as a political declaration by patients. It does not belong in a professional, ethical doctor-patient relationship. The patients, who are often hurting, terrified and anxious, should not have to deal also with our politics.
