Yesterday, Taylor and I represented UO at MCLS. We presented with colleagues from different universities on math vocabulary and highlighted the components of a @UOCTLResearch Grade 2 whole number intervention that enhances "math talk" opportunities for students.

@ssequinn @ssequinn Agreed! Interesting report: teacher prep programs continue to fall short on math methods even with growth in recent years (nctq.org/publications/T…). And, we need more PD for teachers in math (as reported by Perry et al., 2015).

Breaking this cycle of poor math performance is going to require educators who are great at math *and* great at teaching math. And, that's gonna take more than one general math methods class for teachers, when this is where we're starting.
