The Supreme Court has ruled that under UK law, trans people never had the rights people like you insisted they had. You misrepresented the law and cheered on the removal of women’s rights. Trans people have lost nothing except the mistaken belief you fostered.
Rachel Millward@rachelmillward

Today my heart is with our trans community, treated so abysmally in this country. Draft guidance means trans people are barred from services they could previously access & inclusive service providers will be at legal risk. Green Party statement: greenparty.org.uk/2026/05/22/sia…

@jan_murray @amnesty is still living in the past. They think it's a civil rights issue like being gay. They're absolute fools.

What the heck has got into Amnesty International UK? The humanitarian charity - once known for campaigning for prisoners of conscience - has published an extraordinary report on the supposed rise of the UK’s “gender critical movement”. It reads less like a human rights document and more like a dossier on a dangerous extremist network. Except the “extremists” in question are largely women who do not want to get undressed in front of men. And who object to children being given life-altering medical treatment in the name of gender ideology. The report attempts to map “GC actors” and funding streams, while flagging supposedly concerning organisations such as @SexMattersOrg, @FiLiA_charity & @AllianceLGB. How did a once-respected organisation stray so far off course? I wrote about it for @unherd (link in comments below) 👇

I’m a left wing gay atheist, and I think she’s fucking awesome, a hero. While so-called “allies” advocate for removing women’s and children’s safeguards for an unproven ideology, and converting gender-non-conforming kids into sterile stereotypes, Rowling put her legacy and fortune on the line to defend women and girls. That’s heroism.

JK Rowling mansplained, by Sarah Ditum (@sarahditum) What happened to JK Rowling? If only there were some kind of primary source that could tell us why she became interested in the clash between trans activism and women’s rights — say, a first-person essay. But alas, the archive is silent. It must be, because why else would two male podcasters have taken it upon themselves to solve this supposed mystery? This week, the ‘Origin Story’ podcast, hosted by indistinguishable journalists Ian Dunt and Dorian Lynskey, bravely shouldered the burden of analysing Rowling over the course of two episodes. Do they succeed? Not remotely. But they do offer a fascinating insight into what happens when a certain kind of progressive man becomes radicalised by Bluesky. Read more below ⬇️ buff.ly/fyIiwWg

@CurtisDaly_ @KernowDamo Remember, most of the terf leaders pretend trans men don't exist because they spoil the predator narrative. Would not be surprised if some of the more credulous and less educated terf followers have genuinely never heard of trans men. Same with enbies.

While it appears that the government has successfully pushed back on some particularly harmful elements in the previous draft, the new Code of Practice will still lead to the exclusion of trans people from services and facilities that they have used without issue for a very long time. This will do nothing to improve women’s lives and the many struggles we face, but it will put trans people (and anyone perceived as trans) at increased risk of discrimination, harassment and violence. The Code unfortunately still represents the culmination of years of anti-trans campaigning from a small, well-funded minority who have had outsized influence in the media and in politics, and have weaponised the courts for their own ends. The legal situation for trans people is now deeply incoherent and means that it is untenable for them to be able live their lives with dignity. This is completely out of line with the values of equality that a Labour government is meant to champion. Instead of making this Code statutory, the government should be legislating to clarify and protect trans people’s rights, privacy and inclusion.

If you want proof that the letters LGB and TQ+ don’t belong together, look at the “shocking news” that the UK is now the worst country in Western Europe for LGBTQ+ rights. There are three reasons for the low position in ILGA’s ranking: * The UK has rejected attempts to introduce “Gender self-ID”. * The UK Supreme Court has clarified that the terms “sex” and “sexual orientation” in equalities legislation are based on biological sex. * The UK has severely curtailed sex denialist interventions (known by activists as “gender affirming care”) for minors. All these points are good news for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals. They have consolidated our rights and the meaning of homosexuality in UK law. They protect proto-gay children and LGB teens from harmful interventions. The people who are angry about all this are those who think you can be “born in the wrong body”, “change sex” or simply choose whether you are a man or a woman, regardless of your biological sex. They are the people who think some lesbians have penises. They are the people who profit from adolescents’ distress by prescribing drugs that disrupt the endocrine system. They are the deluded parents who think they must acquiesce in children’s demands. The UK is forging ahead in re-establishing the rights of people whose sexual orientation is towards their own sex. I am immensely proud of all we have achieved - and delighted with the UK’s low position in ILGA’s gender-crazed rankings. Let’s stay at the bottom!

This has real practical implications for wanting to search specifically for female MSPs on the parlliament website and with the filters now removed, their representation is obsured. Bonkers.
Dr Kath Murray@kathmurray1

To spare the blushes of 2 men who don’t wish to be counted as male, our Parliament has removed sex data for all MSPs, thereby obscuring female representation. The priorities of this ideological movement couldn’t be clearer. I hope female MSPs are putting in complaints.

@KateBMwriting @HelenWebberley @DeraCalla It would be my pleasure! Once you tell me why ex Heritage Foundation, Bev Jackson, co-founder of your 'charity' - has lived and worked full time in Holland, since 1971. So why did she set up 'charity', why is it Tufton St based, and who funds you? It's all worryingly vague.

"Maya Forstater, chief executive of Sex Matters, previously said the Corporation's proposed policy "is simply unlawful". " She can keep saying this until she is blue in the face, but all of their exclusionary views are slowly being overturned. The truth always wins and exclusion is unlawful. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
