@ChairBandit @BitBenderBrink I need to finally finish your carpet... :) Yeah

@GeneralKaizen @BitBenderBrink We've both directly witnessed people we've brought to build on GalaChain get turned away or ignored by Gala.
I don't know why but they seem to only want the biggest and best building on their chain and they get to decide whether or not you're worth their time.

@BitBenderBrink Thanks for clarifiying it, i wish you and LFG best with DataGram!

And just to be clear...what I’m building now isn’t meant to take away from the Gala ecosystem. It’s meant to deliver on the promises that have since been abandoned. Nodes with real utility at the center of an ecosystem? Gala has openly walked away from that and said their nodes don’t do anything. Fine. I’ll build my own network where the nodes actually do something. Blockchain gaming being deprioritized so the company can focus on DeFi? Fine. Then I’ll help Patrick spin up Helix, and we even gave all FN operators Helix nodes just for showing up and claiming. If you ever see us launching a layer one or trying to build a DEX or DeFi protocol, then sure, call us out. But right now we’re just carrying forward the pieces that were dropped.
As for focusing on my own work, Datagram had live products and customers before we launched the Alpha Testnet. You can go to demo.datagram.network right now and try some of it out. We have more than 140,000 nodes online as of this week. I’m proud of what we’re building. It’s real. It’s live. And it’s growing.
I get where your message is coming from, and I appreciate the concern. I’m not doing any of this out of spite. I’m doing it because I care...about the people, the community, the vision. That hasn’t changed.
Let’s keep building something better.

Greedy CEO
English

@GeneralKaizen @CryptoStache He knows more people are going to get scammed so he is protecting his new audience.
I think it’s fair. Gala is the worst and we all know it

@ChairBandit @BitBenderBrink @GoldenOsprey787 For me it seemed everyone wanted to jump "sinking ship" and "wash hands". If thats true what you say, then whole planning was bad XD Dont want to go deep into discussion but i hope Benefactor will get feedback and you all learn from mistakes. BTW i need to finish your carpet XD

That absolutely is/was LFG's mission.
The problem is that Gala has purposefully built a system that prevents people from being able to come and freely build in their ecosystem.
When you can't just show up and start building, they don't seem particularly interested in actually providing adequate support, and don't seem interested in removing the barriers to entry that they've put up, it throws a gigantic wrench in things.
A lot of the issues LFG has faced in trying to bring builders to GalaChain has stemmed from these big barriers to entry that a lot of other ecosystems simply don't have.
We started LFG with an understanding that these barriers would be removed and we'd be able to flood the ecosystem with builders. Thus far, every one of those barriers is still up for some reason.
We don't own GalaChain so our ability to be successful in that mission is entirely dependent on Gala's desire to actually create an attractive ecosystem for builders. The way it currently is ain't it and we provided them everything they'd need to do to get there almost two years ago at this point.

I have taken down my last post about Gala. Not because I regret what I said, but because I’ve received word that Eric has personally read it. This is the first time I’ve heard that he’s read anything I’ve posted, and in that regard, the post has served its purpose.
Whether he takes any of it to heart is entirely up to him. I still hold out hope that he’ll recognize things aren’t going the way they should and make changes before it’s too late.

@BitBenderBrink @GoldenOsprey787 Keep fighting Giants 💪 I hope he will listen

The things that I took issue with are things I would have taken issue with a year ago.
1.) Not talking to people who have supported the ecosystem with respect. Speaking to people with respect is a basic requirement. Treating someone who has supported your ecosystem for YEARS is pretty important.
2.) Making massive ecosystem changes without votes. I don't have a problem with the concept of staking. I have a problem with it being forced down people's throats. I do not like the fact that it punishes people who may have depended on that revenue, but if that was what the ecosystem voted for, the I would have been fine with the implementation. The key though is always the vote...that is central to the whole idea of the ecosystem at a fundamental level.
Those are the two things I have complained about these are things I would always always always have problems with.
I would love to bring projects to GalaChain. I have tried to bring projects to GalaChain. The current irritating reality is that you can't DO anything on GalaChain main channels without Gala blessing your project, and that sucks. I have had projects who were trying to build on GalaChain get told "supporting you isn't a strategic need for us right now so you have been deprioritized." That sucks. It makes it hard to build anything.
Almost every single project from LFG has had the same challenges...we have pushed GalaChain, provided docs, opened group chats...and then eventually out of exasperation, the project has chosen other chains that give them grants and offer support.
Do you have any idea how frustrating that is? Then I get told that I am not doing enough to "help the ecosystem?" I want GalaChain to succeed, I want Gala to succeed, and I want Eric himself to succeed. For four years he was pretty much my best friend, and I hate that we are in this spot. The only reason I say ANYTHING is because I feel like if I don't, then the community won't have a voice. You know they ban everyone in Discord that says something they don't like or hide the comments on Twitter...but they can't hide something I say that they really need to hear.
I want them to come together WITH the community and do the right thing. I want them to return to their roots of "we are doing this to make the world a better place." I want to see those lofty ambitions again. That is what I want. That is why I joined the company years ago and why so many joined the community. That is why Eric started it years ago.
The community and the node operators have been the two foundational pillars of Gala since day zero. My whole post and pretty much everything I have said has been about honoring these two heavily overlapped cohorts.
English

@BitBenderBrink @AjayHaynes You dont need 1 m $GALA to recive rewards. You would need around 100k to recive same amount Nodes earned prior Phase 1 of staking.
English

@AjayHaynes I don't know. I guess the question is do you have 1m $GALA on GalaChain to continue to receive rewards. If you do, then you are probably doing pretty well. If not, then, well, yeah, its not looking good.
English

I can think of a lot of CEOs that are worse...but if this is what your community is saying about you, you have absolutely have room for improvement in community management and communications.

@BitBenderBrink @GoldenOsprey787 Ofc he will respond when you publicly shame him and spit on same thing you defended year ago...it looked like "washing my hands" from all Gala stuff and farming sympathy of community and i think when you decide to leave you said LFGs mission will be to bring people to ecosystem.
English

@GeneralKaizen @GoldenOsprey787 All of which I have used and received no response. This was received though, so mission accomplished I guess.
English

@BitBenderBrink @GoldenOsprey787 I mean you have dudes phone on nr 1as well multiple ways to reach him :) For me it looked like stunt to distance yourself from "bad" gala decisions.
English

@GoldenOsprey787 The whole point was to get him to actually SEE the thing, not to chase clout. It served its purposes and you know people screenshotted it anyways.
