@GayTory @AndyBurnhamGM The pricing needs addressing too. It's currently nearly twice the price for me to commute to Manchester as it is to Leeds by train, even though Manchester is closer.

@AndyBurnhamGM The most important thing is joining the cities of the north, allowing people to commute to other cities. I can drive to Leeds in the time it takes to get the train.

I listened closely to the PM on the BBC. It sounded like he’s already decided to cancel rail investment in the North but also decided not to tell us while he’s in town. I hope I’m wrong and am ready to meet at any time while he’s here. Surely we’re owed a conversation at least?

The Government is guilty of gross mismanagement of HS2 and of making the North pay for their failure. Once again, passengers here are seen as second-class citizens. It’s time for an honest conversation about what they WILL do for the North and let voters decide if it’s enough.
