According to an analysis from the Center for American Progress (CAP), the blanket 10% tariff on imported goods that Trump wants to implement would be a historic economic disaster. The study further states that Trump's tariff would be far more damaging to U.S. consumers and importers than to any of the Chinese companies he claims to be targeting. "Tariffs are a tax levied on U.S. importers when their purchased product crosses into the U.S. market. These importers are usually domestic companies that import products for distribution to U.S. consumers," the study states. This cannot be allowed to happen. Immigration seems to be a “hot” issue for Republicans. I know one hell of a lot of contractors in Missouri who will vote for Trump….who happily hire immigrants to do the work needed to keep their business up and running. They hire them to fill the vacancies created by healthy young white men-U.S. Citizens-who refuse to work. The “Immigrant issue” might be the only thing keeping this country moving forward right now. During the HOT ass summer of 2012, I knew of three local roofing companies that were owned by white, U.S. Citizens, that consisted entirely of non-English speaking Hispanic men. They roofed a house in half the time of the U.S. Citizen crews did. And, in the summer of 2012….it was so Goddamned hot, that many Caucasian crews wouldn’t even work on many of the hottest days. The immigrants? Oh, they were on those roofs, laying those shingles faster than a caffeinated hen lays eggs. They worked EVERY day. So, yeah…don’t buy that bullshit of Republicans believing immigrants to be an “issue.” The only “issue” is that these hard working folks create a contrast that shows just how f*cking lazy many of the Republicans are….who screaming the loudest.

If successful, this measure will stop Trump from polluting the courtroom with deranged lies... Additionally, Smith cited the false conspiracy theory that undercover feds were hidden inside the January 6th crowd, working to instigate the violent coup attempt. MAGA supporters have repeatedly tried to wash away the culpability for their violent actions by blaming the FBI and other federal agencies. "The Court should not permit the defendant to turn the courtroom into a forum in which he propagates irrelevant disinformation, and should reject his attempt to inject politics into this proceeding," Smith's filing reads. Smith asked the court to bar Trump from peddling a "theory of selective or vindictive prosecution or to otherwise improperly inject politics into the trial." The Special Counsel tore into the lie that Trump is being prosecuted to help Democrats— "In addition to being wrong, these allegations are irrelevant to the jury’s determination of the defendant’s guilt or innocence, would be prejudicial if presented to the jury, and must be excluded," Smith wrote. BREAKING: Michigan’s Supreme Court pulls the coward’s move and rejects a well-founded attempt to remove Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 ballot based on the Constitution’s “insurrectionist ban.” This is a huge mistake and a blow to American democracy… Michigan could have followed Colorado’s lead and stricken Trump from the ballot but has chosen not to. That said, the legal effort to remove him might be renewed for the general election. The order from the state’s Supreme Court was not signed and an official vote count was not released. The rejection of the case was entirely based on procedural grounds. Crucially, this means that the court didn’t weigh in on whether or not January 6th was an insurrection or whether Trump himself was personally responsible. Of course, we all know it was and that he was. Regardless of this outcome, we cannot give up the fight. The survival of America depends upon it. @jasonllevin Honestly its horrific that we have politically biased judges trying to circumvent democracy by stealing the option to vote for a leading candidate from the American people. Like him or hate him, removing the option to vote for him is a step down a dark path for this country.
