MPs in this position go one of two ways: either they give up on parly work and focus on finding jobs, or they get over-involved in Parliament (scheming, machinations, etc) like cornered animals trying to save themselves. The latter doesn't bode well for an unpopular PM.

The Government is doing what it *thinks* people want now, because future gains from long-term policy are theoretical and uncertain. Consequence is that national planning and growth is sacrificed on the altar of leaflets in marginal constituencies

It's very difficult sometimes to explain to people the speed at which digital comms has progressed in the last 18 months alone. We're seeing a lot of Labour MPs at the moment doing digital videos which would have done extremely well back in 2019, but which now just feel dated.

When I worked in public affairs I went to 4 Labour aligned dinners in 2 months and Lammy spoke at all 4 dinners and did the exact same speech where he’d go ‘I know what you’re all thinking! A black foreign secretary? This isn’t The Diplomat!’ which is a show with a black FS that I think literally only he has seen but he referenced it like it was fucking west wing. 4 times.
