Must admit, didn't have "88th-minute penalty at Ibrox FOR CELTIC" on my bingo card.

@pieandbov What’s the point in having VAR if they keep making absolute fuck ups on this scale? If the decisions are a lottery about getting things right either with or without VAR, there’s no point to VAR. For clarity, it’s not VAR that’s the problem; rather, it’s the idiots operating it.

For what it's worth, and I'm really not sure it's much, the KMI has noted two more VAR errors in their latest report. The panel voted unanimously that VAR should have recommended Cammy Kerr of Livingston be red carded for DOGSO against Rangers. And they also voted unanimously that VAR should have recommended the red card shown to St.Mirren's Richard King against Motherwell be rescinded. So, that's nice. scottishfa.co.uk/media/14192/29…

Not sure what the fuss is about re Celtic’s ticket allocation at Ibrox. If the Scottish Cup rules allow up to 20% of the stadium’s capacity then that’s what it should be… it would be good to get back how it used to be in the league as well…

@msm_monitor @CelticFC Thought it strange myself until I realised Dermot Desmond has his name on the files although what for only time will tell. Would have legitimate to ask the question if he mentioned DD but didn't

Gary Robertson has tried to link Celtic FC to the Epstein/Mandelson scandal. Why try to smear a Scottish football club instead of asking about Anas Sarwar's admitted long term friendship with the disgraced Labour peer? Shocking from the BBC Scotland presenter. @CelticFC

@thewhills3127 Maeda nowhere near his form last year. Should have been allowed to leave and appropriately replaced. Engels similarly we have had to keep as we simply can't let him leave right now. Not exactly how you maintain a hungry, motivated squad

Celtic turned down 25m for Engels, could have cashed out on Maeda in summer, missed the CL cash, paid millions to get Nancy for a few weeks just to pay him and his team off weeks later. an absolute disaster from a business point of view before you even consider state of the team.

@SparesCeltic Decent money. I'd rather keep if no replacement lined up but we all know what happens all too often after a player has had his head turned.

@pieandbov These are the fouls given by the refs so doesn't include all the sneaky off the ball ones Celtic get away with?

See also, £17m for 22 year old Arne Engels. May be a great price, if this was the summer. But who do they replace him with, 9 hours before the window shuts, in the middle of a four way fight at the top of the league?
Scotland’s Coefficient@scotlandscoeff1

While Rangers rejecting £13m for Chermiti (21 years old) and £10m for Gassama (22 years old) may seem surprising given the size of the fees, I can see the logic: 1.) Those players are in the age bracket which command the highest transfer fees, due to future resale potential, and they will be for the next 2-3 years. 2.) These fees are a relative pittance compared to the top leagues in Europe. If those young players do go on to have successful careers in bigger leagues than Scotland, then the buying clubs will see the players value's doubling. 2.) Rangers are in a three way title race, with a potential £40m automatic Champions League prize on offer should they win the league. It's a different situation to being 12 points behind and your season over. 3.) If this was the summer then accepting those bids and reinvesting in the squad may seem the obvious action. However with less than a week left in the January transfer window, it could prove folly to accept bids without ready made replacements that can make an immediate impact; as they then could blow their chance at the league title. 4.) Rangers have been well within UEFA's 70% squad cost ratio in each of the past three years (under 60%) and so although they do need player sales to keep a healthy trading model going, financially they will not be in a rush to cash in. A 21 year old striker attracting £13m bids in January will very likely still receive the same bids in July.
