Get this parasites hounded out the club. A police officer rat who’s stopping Celtic fans getting in the stadium. Scumbag.

Celtic are interested in former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain. There is no rush for any deal to be sorted before the transfer deadline, as he's a free agent. Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently training with Arsenal. (w/@JamesSavundra & @skysports_sheth)

ANALYSIS: Celtic made it clear to Nottingham Forest this morning that Arne Engels was not for sale in this window, but a bid worth £25m changes things dramatically and the club hierarchy are mulling it over... #liveblog-body" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">skysports.com/football/live-…

While Rangers rejecting £13m for Chermiti (21 years old) and £10m for Gassama (22 years old) may seem surprising given the size of the fees, I can see the logic: 1.) Those players are in the age bracket which command the highest transfer fees, due to future resale potential, and they will be for the next 2-3 years. 2.) These fees are a relative pittance compared to the top leagues in Europe. If those young players do go on to have successful careers in bigger leagues than Scotland, then the buying clubs will see the players value's doubling. 2.) Rangers are in a three way title race, with a potential £40m automatic Champions League prize on offer should they win the league. It's a different situation to being 12 points behind and your season over. 3.) If this was the summer then accepting those bids and reinvesting in the squad may seem the obvious action. However with less than a week left in the January transfer window, it could prove folly to accept bids without ready made replacements that can make an immediate impact; as they then could blow their chance at the league title. 4.) Rangers have been well within UEFA's 70% squad cost ratio in each of the past three years (under 60%) and so although they do need player sales to keep a healthy trading model going, financially they will not be in a rush to cash in. A 21 year old striker attracting £13m bids in January will very likely still receive the same bids in July.
