#APDTrafficAlert: Officers are at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Dayton Street and 19th Avenue. Preliminary information is that about 7 p.m., patrol officers responded to an Aurora911 report of an armed carjacking near 23rd Avenue and Dallas Street. Officers quickly located the stolen vehicle with the assistance of the carjacking victim. When officers attempted to stop the suspect, the suspect fled in the stolen vehicle and collided with another vehicle at Dayton and 19th Avenue, killing the motorist. APD's Traffic Investigation Unit is responding to the scene. Dayton is closed between Montview and 17th, and 19th Ave is closed at Dayton for the investigation. The driver of the stolen vehicle has been detained.
