Got to wonder if Lt. Hawk was like,”Whoops. I was supposed to go to heading 418 mark 215… Lemme put the right turn signal on…”

Thinking about this again but immediately after the "warp travel is ripping up the universe" episode Voyager spends 7 years blazing as fast as they can across the Delta Quadrant. Like Jesus guys I know you don't live there but think about the environment
Caroniver@LiamPrice413

This also makes Voyager launching a few months later very funny because they're bragging about the Warp 9.975 capability. Why would they do that in a world where we just found out Warp Travel is bad for the universe.

Here's the Circle emblem, as it appears in #StarTrekDS9's "The Homecoming"➡️ and "The Circle"⬅️. How conventient that the Circle decided to spray-paint their logo on the cave wall, right next to Minister Jaro Essa, so that Kira realizes right away that he's in cahoots with them when she comes to. 😅

@GerhardRiewe @The_Warlock_86 @ageofthefever The idea of needing to get back to take out a strong threat in Goldberg is great but then you don’t have Nash beat Goldberg or you have it revealed that NWO is back at Starrcade.

My hot take from the first 3 months of 1999 is that McMahon winning the Rumble was just as bad (or worse) as the finger poke of doom. The difference is WWF immediately retconned Vince winning and never mentioned it again. Whereas WCW doubled down and put Goldberg in the mid card

@GerhardRiewe @The_Warlock_86 @ageofthefever They did a cluster heel turn without a heel turn at Starrcade, then set up a big rematch a week later and swerved the fans twice and then ended up with Ric Flair as a top heel character with no NWO basically by May.

@The_Warlock_86 @Clint4000 @ageofthefever Rhat's what I'm saying. There were several much better options for the follow-up. People being tired of the NWO is not really supported by the data. On the contrary, Nitro's big drop in ratings came immediately after the effective end of the NWO red & black.

@GerhardRiewe @Clint4000 @ageofthefever Logically it should have been Goldberg vs Hogan 2 at Superbrawl which would have outdrawn Flair vs Hogan for the 90th time and leads to Goldberg vs Nash 2 at Uncensored with some kind of stip like nwo disbands if Goldberg wins (which everyone was tired of the nwo anyway)

@The_Warlock_86 @Clint4000 @ageofthefever Nash, maybe. But it gave Goldberg a great starting point reason for a personal feud with the NWO after the streak ended. And Hogan vs Flair outdrew Austin vs McMahon on PPV in February.

@GerhardRiewe @Clint4000 @ageofthefever It was a bad angle. It ruined two of the hottest babyfaces in the company (Goldberg & Nash) and put the belt back on 45 year old Hogan who nobody wanted at that point.

@oiclan46 @caesar_pounce I have no problem with that. But this is you arguing "I'm ok with killing people here because...", not "I'm not killing people here".

@GerhardRiewe @caesar_pounce "Everybody is responsible for their choice and its consequences - good, bad or neutral." exactly, assuming red is the biological and the most individualistically logical choice it's the first blue vote that starts the dilemma, i'd trust much more in best interest decision making

"Principally hope-pilled" is the telling phrase. These are people who pick blue solely to use themselves as hostages to force everyone to pick blue. Saving all lives genuinely is not the goal. Social programming (even on the basis of using coercion, blackmail, human shields, shame, threat of suicide) is the actual end in itself. Social programming is the only thing that matters.
notsoErudite@notsoErudite

Since everyone was very curious my answer, my answer is obviously blue. Gotta save the naive, the kids, the blue lovers, and the principally hope-pilled people. You red button pickers need therapy.

@oiclan46 @caesar_pounce Sorry, but that's just cope. In this scenario, other people living/dying depends on your decision - by design. No amount of wrong analogies or appeals to biology can change that. Everybody is responsible for their choice and its consequences - good, bad or neutral.

@GerhardRiewe @caesar_pounce red playing an active roll in "killing people" is innaccurate removes humans from nature. we have been and still are animals whose biological function is to survive as a base instinct reality is that blue willingly walks onto the freeway hoping enough reds stop or gets hit trying

@oiclan46 @caesar_pounce Sure, everybody is responsible for their own actions. But your traffic analogy doesn't hold any weight in this discussion, as it removes the downside of the red button (killing others) and the upside of the blue button (saving others).

@GerhardRiewe @caesar_pounce you can just as easily avoid pressing the blue button. only concerning individuals and what the rest of global society may do it's a decent example, some may stop, but they might not. it's your choice to assume the risk of them not stopping

@oiclan46 @caesar_pounce Ok, but then your freeway scenario is just completely different from the red/blue button scenario, in which you can easily avoid pressing the red button.

@GerhardRiewe @caesar_pounce legality in some cases is almost entirely separate from reality, many would agree that protesting in a freeway of all places is just plain stupid if not borderline terrorism. regarding a single individual i believe the case in defense of a driver going 70mph is greater than pedes

@Clint4000 @ageofthefever My hot take is thata the Finger Poke wasn't even a bad angle. The follow-up, including Goldberg pivoting to a feud with Bam Bam Bigelow two weeks later & a Hogan face turn six weeks later were the actual problem.

@ageofthefever It wasn’t because they actually had a storyline element planned to use it lead to a huge payoff and lead to Wrestlemania. The Finger poke got the NWO together without any real plan going forward after hitting essentially a reset button.

@caesar_pounce if someone walks onto a busy freeway for whatever reason (doesn't matter), is the driver that hits them a murderer? no, the pedestrian walked onto a freeway understanding there was a chance of being hit, or they're mentally unfit to understand such. it's disingenuous framing
