Earlier today, a 5-year-old child went missing in Warren, Massachusetts. An extensive search, including our dedicated Troopers and Sergeants assigned to the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), K-9 units, Airwing, and SP Brookfield, in collaboration with our local law enforcement partners, was swiftly initiated. Remarkably, within about half an hour of beginning the search, a member assigned to the SERT successfully located the young boy in the woods, carrying the child out to safety. It’s important to note this member is assigned to SP Springfield and was working his regular duty assignment when the child went missing. The child received a thorough evaluation by EMS and has now been reunited with his family. The Association wishes to express our utmost appreciation for the swift and efficient efforts of our members who ensured the safety of this child before any harm could befall him. This incident exemplifies the dedication and commitment that comes with being a member of the Massachusetts State Police.
