@HonestJohn0 It’s what happens when the police move out that bothers me. Who moves in & who sees what’s going on, who’s around etc

Budgets are tight everywhere, accepted & HUGE savings have already been made. The success or failure of this will depend on where officers are based to police their local communities -determining response times, visibility and interaction with the public, all key priorities imho

@LesMacd75 Policing has taken such a battering, it’s so important to support to those who are out there trying their very best to deliver policing that keeps our communities safe, against all of these & other challenges

@Yamahafj1188 Am really sorry to hear that, what a waste. Hve always had huge admiration for those volunteers who come out rain, hail or shine oft of a weekend, after their own working week, to help keep their communities safe. The very best of people & the kind of help that shld be cherished

@GillMacDonald While it's no substitute for regular officers there are a lot of Specials, some with long service, who are basically ignored these days. They could easily be utilised to backfill gaps. In my local division the numbers of Specials have dropped from 50 to 5 in about 20 years.

Remembrance Day 👇 When our nation (every village, town and city) pauses to reflect on past sacrifices to defend our freedoms and our of way of life. And to thank our gallant military for all they do to keep us safe. It is an apolitical event that reaches across faiths, cultures and backgrounds and regardless of anyone’s views. Any form of national demonstration that overshadows our nation’s moment of reflection is provocative and totally unacceptable.
