Say “No” To JImma City’s Dictatorship‼️
Say “Yes” to Freedom‼️
I just received direct confirmation from my friends who own businesses in Jimma city. Local police are actively visiting shops, cafes, and other establishments, forcing them to immediately stop playing Teddy Afro’s new songs — especially tracks from his recently released album Etorika (also known as Ethiorica), including the powerful “Das Tal (Ansaw).”
This is not a rumor or second-hand information. My friends have personally experienced these visits. Officers are checking the music being played and ordering the owners to turn it off right away, with clear instructions not to play it again. Hardworking business owners are being harassed simply for allowing their customers to enjoy popular music in their own private spaces.
Actions like these deploying police to monitor and silence music in local businesses do not show strength or confidence. On the contrary, they make the authorities appear insecure and overly reactive to simple songs. Real leadership does not fear artistic expression; it engages with the ideas and emotions it stirs through openness, not intimidation or control.
I have personally contacted the proper authorities regarding this unacceptable interference in Jimma city. I was assured that the matter will be investigated immediately and that appropriate action will be taken against those who ordered this enforcement as well as the police officers involved.
Rather than harassing business owners who are simply trying to operate normally and serve their communities, we must prioritize freedom and common sense. Let people listen to the music they love. Let shops and cafes play what resonates with their customers without fear. Suppressing cultural or political expression only breeds unnecessary tension and resentment at a time when Ethiopia urgently needs healing genuine unity, and real democracy.
Music has long served as a mirror for society a way to reflect, express, and even heal. Teddy Afro’s voice is part of our rich Ethiopian cultural heritage and politics. It should be allowed to play freely, without interference from anyone.
What is happening in Jimma right now should concern every Ethiopian who values basic freedoms, rule of law, and respect for citizens. Ethiopian deserve far better than the policing of playlists and the silencing of artists.
I urge the authorities to follow through on their assurances swiftly and put an end to this nonsense so that normal life can resume without fear.
Let the music play. Let voices be heard. Let Ethiopians decide for themselves what speaks to their hearts.
Ethiopia is not Eritrea or North Korea.

Ethiopia is rising fast as a global outsourcing destination—ranked 23rd in the 2026 Global Outsourcing Talent Index and top 12% worldwide, with a 98/100 labor cost score and a young, growing talent base. The fundamentals are strong. (1/2)

Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.

From a friend in Beirut:
“They bombed highly populated and non-evacuated areas. Last I heard there were 254 dead and 1169 injured. The day before, at the time they bombed, (my husband) and I were passing in that area. The casualties will rise because there are still people under the rubble. This is higher than the Beirut port explosion. And they are threatening that they will continue their unannounced raids for 48 hours. So nobody knows where they are going to bomb today. We don’t know anymore where it’s safe. And the sad thing is that they are getting away with everything they do and no one is able to stop them.”
All this because Benjamin Netanyahu understands that peace will mean the end of his tenure as Israel’s Prime Minister.
The people of Lebanon suffer because of the ego of one man.
A man who heads a nation of genocidal maniacs.
Where is Europe?
Where is Russia?
Where is China?
Don’t bother asking where America is.
We lost our moral compass a long time ago.
We stand with Israel.
We stand with the murderers.

Stone Age?
At a time when you were still in caves searching for fire, we were inscribing human rights on the Cyrus Cylinder.
We endured the storm of Alexander and the Mongol invasions and remained; because Iran is not just a country, it is a civilization.
