@QueenOfFern Don't you dare compare Felix to that whining brat, his writing isn't bad and was received well by the general audiences during S4 and S5.

Saying ‘95% of the hate would disappear’ if the events of Harmonic Convergence never happened is just an oversimplification that ignores both the narrative intent and the broader reception of The Legend of Korra. That moment wasn’t some random destruction of lore, it was a deliberate thematic reset of the Avatar cycle back to a state closer to Wan, where the Avatar must operate without relying on accumulated past wisdom. The point is to force Korra into a position where she cannot lean on previous lives like Aang did, and instead has to navigate a far more modern, politically complex, and spiritually unstable world on her own terms. It shifts the Avatar from being a vessel of inherited answers to someone who must actively create new ones, which fits the show’s larger themes of change, uncertainty, and evolving balance. More importantly, the idea that removing this event would erase most of the hate ignores the fact that criticism of Korra existed long before it, people already took issue with her personality, the tonal shift from the original series, the industrial setting, and the different narrative structure. Harmonic Convergence simply became a focal point for frustrations that were already there, not the root cause of them. Even without it, those same criticisms would persist because they stem from fundamental differences between the two shows, not a single plot decision. Reducing all of that to one moment is less analysis and more scapegoating imo.

@DanHarmone Also again, Korra barely even fucking relied on the past avatars, stop over analyzing things to make the series sound smart. There was no need or even impact in losing them other than shock value and bringing hate. People actually supporting this stupid take

@DanHarmone Horrific take. Not a single moment or decision, post-harmonic-convergence, comes to mind, where it shows that she's learning or anything. She continues to consistently stink up the gaff after this.

@DanHarmone Sounds more like he got it spot on. Most of the themes you mentioned were what made Korea suck vs aang. He was a hopeful boy who was trying to carry on a legacy. She was a resentful girl who wanted to destroy the past. The "made for modern audiences" effect.

@AllAboutKorra Korra hate is generally unjustified because she does get better in later seasons but I think many forget just how awful and unpleasant she could be in the first two seasons. This and her using the Avatar state to win a race against children are in the bottom 5 moments.

It’s basically like that, but with a character who had development vs someone with development that was hindered by not being shown as much
FAUZI@sisa20ribu

@MeowyWood This is iron man vs batman all over again. Asami might be a smart engineer but don't know how far she can do without her father's fortune. But with sokka, we literally saw how he grew, every pain and suffering he got, the feeling of left behind from the rest of the squad
